Dallas Cowboys face backlash for announcing Black Rifle Coffee deal amid gun violence in USA
The Dallas Cowboys‘ partnership with the Black Rifle Coffee Co. was made public on Twitter the day after a shooting at a Fourth of July parade in a Chicago suburb claimed the lives of over a dozen people.
Additionally, it comes a little over a month after the Cowboys revealed their involvement in a $400,000 gift to aid victims and survivors of the South Texas school tragedy in Uvalde, which claimed the lives of 19 students and two instructors. It’s safe to say that the Cowboys aren’t helping their cause.

About 200 comments were made on the tweet announcing the partnership between “America’s Team” and “America’s Coffee” in the first few hours, the majority of which were negative and said the announcement’s timing was poor.
One user commented, “Maybe read the room a bit, people,” while another said, “The Dallas Cowboys just lost one of their biggest supporters. Integrity is important.” The Cowboys chose not to respond.
The tweet contains a link to a drawing for two Cowboys home game tickets and a 12-month coffee subscription. The majority of the business’s sales are to consumers directly. Evan Hafer, a U.S. Army veteran who started Black Rifle, has made it a priority for his business to help veterans.

In an email, Cornwell stated that there is never a good time for individuals who oppose gun violence. “Have the Cowboys made a mistake in terms of their connection with their more moderate fans?” is the business question.

Conservatives and proponents of gun rights have flocked to the Black Rifle brand, and the Salt Lake City-based business has connections to Texas. The company’s first physical location debuted in San Antonio, which also houses a second corporate office.
