‘Some People Talk and Some Act’- Francis Ngannou Disses Jon Jones After His Scathing Comments About Israel Adesanya’s UFC 276 Performance

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is facing a lot of flak for his most recent title defense against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. ‘The Last Stylebender’ talked a massive game in the lead-up to the fight and promised to deliver a violent showcase against Cannonier to rack up his fifth title defense.

However, the fight didn’t quite live up to the hype, as Israel Adesanya was content with telegraphing jabs and calf kicks to win a lackluster decision on the scorecards. For his own part, Jared Cannonier too didn’t come into the contest with an explosive striking skill set as advertised.

Fans and MMA pundits were vocal about Israel Adesanya’s lackluster performance and one of his biggest critics too didn’t hesitate to fire shots at Izzy. Jon Jones took to social media after the fight and he clearly wasn’t impressed with the overall display at UFC 276.

Moreover, Israel Adesanya’s call-out of Alex Pereira too didn’t go down well with the consensus light heavyweight GOAT.

Bro I can’t stop thinking about this shit. How are you going to threaten a guy like Alex with glossy fingernails and a frozen reference. I’m over here scratching my head.”

Francis Ngannou defends Israel Adesanya in the face of criticism

Fellow African-born fighter Francis Ngannou wasn’t about to let Izzy take flak from anyone, let alone a potential opponent in Jon Jones. ‘The Predator’ fired shots at Jon Jones for being inactive and still talking smack about Israel Adesanya. He also reminded Jones that Israel Adesanya had racked five title defenses in the time Jones has been inactive.

“Since Jones been siting back and talking sh*t Izzy have defended his title a least 5 times. Well done CHAMP @stylebender. Some people talk and some act.”

Although Israel Adesanya is bolstering his legacy in the middleweight division, he’s causing some rifts in the MMA community. Fans are undoubtedly being turned off to his overall game and they believe he’s taking an overly conservating approach when defending his belt.

His scrap against Alex Pereira will be huge in determining his star power moving forward.
