Most people agree that Super Bowl XLII was the best Superbowl ever. The disparity between the two squads, Eli Manning’s New York Giants and Tom Brady’s New England Patriots, was a big factor in why this Super Bowl was so entertaining.

The New England Patriots were undefeated going into the contest. With a stunning regular-season record of 16-0 and a playoffs record of 2-0. They would go 19-0 for the first time in NFL history if they defeated the Giants. The Giants, on the other hand, struggled to make the playoffs as a wildcard club with a 10-6 record.

Eli Manning won two Super Bowls while playing for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). He also received the Super Bowl MVP award following both victories.

Manning spent 16 seasons with the Giants in the NFL. He was first taken overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 Draft but was then traded to the New York Giants. From 2004 through 2019, Manning started as the main quarterback for the Giants. 

In Super Bowl XLII in 2008, he earned his first victory at the grand event. One of the greatest surprises in sports history occurred when Manning and the wild-card Giants stunned the unbeaten New England Patriots 17-14 in the final game of the season.

Manning won his second in Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. He once again led the Giants to a 21–17 upset victory over the highly favoured Patriots.

For throwing yards, touchdown passes, and completions, he currently retains the franchise record. In terms of throwing yards and touchdown passes, he comes in eighth overall.

Manning is one of just five athletes who have received repeated MVP trophies in Super Bowls. On January 22, 2020, Manning made his retirement official.
