Top 3 quarterbacks for the 2022 season
No position in the game is more important than quarterback, and you’re not winning a ring in the modern NFL without a very good one – if you do so, then your quarterback transcended to levels he has never been before, like Nick Foles back in 2017.
The game has transitioned to a much higher usage of the passing game over the last two decades and it reflects on how teams are always looking to improve their quarterback situation, while running backs have become less important every year.
With that in mind, check out the top 3 quarterbacks for the 2022 NFL season:
#1 – Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Is this the year where Allen finally gets his first MVP medal? It’s a huge possibility. Coming from a bittersweet loss at Patrick Mahomes’ hands during the Divisional Round, Allen will be more motivated than ever to prove that he can lead the Bills to the promised land – and if he wants to do so, he’ll probably need to beat quarterbacks like Mahomes in a playoff game. His offense remains basically the same (although Brian Daboll left), which is an advantage over guys like Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, who both lost their number one receivers.

#2 – Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes is obviously a bigger star than Allen, getting to the AFC Championship in every year that he has been a starter during his career. The problem is that this will be his first season without Tyreek Hill to help him, and he’ll have to create new bonds with Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster in order to sustain his elite level. He probably will do it sooner than later, but the early season might be a difficult period to navigate for the Chiefs’ quarterback.

#3 – Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
I really thought about whether Herbert deserves to be over Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady here, but I’m considering that he’s going to show another step forward in his game and he should improve even more this season with a better offensive line and with new weapons to help him. Herbert completes the crop of young quarterbacks who should dominate the AFC and terrify opposing defenses.
