After Ghosting Texts, Dana White Gives Khabib Nurmagomedov a Travis Scott Inspired ‘Amazing Gift’
The UFC has been around for close to three decades now. During that time, there have been a few fighters who have played an instrumental role in making the UFC what it is today. The likes of Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz were the first big superstars in the sport. This was followed by the likes of Georges St-Pierre who opened up a whole new market for the promotion and more recently the likes of Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Given what he has done for the sport and for the UFC in general, it is no surprise that Khabib Nurmagomedov is one fighter that Dana White likes a lot. Recently, ‘The Eagle’ shared that Dana White had not been responding to his texts after he demanded a title shot for Islam Makhachev against Charles Oliveira.
It appears as though White has decided to make up for his lack of communication by offering ‘The Eagle’ a rather nice pair of sneakers. The UFC supremo gifted the former lightweight champion a pair of Air Jordan’s inspired by popular rap artist Travis Scott. The shoe is extremely hard to get at retail prices and resales for close to $1,700. White himself is a huge sneaker head and is often spotted wearing rare and unique pieces from different fashion houses.
Khabib Nurmagomedov to secure a title shot for Islam Makhachev in October this year?
For a long time now, ‘The Eagle’ has been extremely high on his protégé Islam Makhachev. Nurmagomedov has stated that his father’s vision was for him to become a champion and dominate for a few years before passing on the baton to Islam.
Now that Makhachev is on a 10-fight win streak, it makes all the sense in the world for him to take on Oliveira for the vacant UFC belt. Reports suggest that the fight will take place in October this year in Abu Dhabi. If that does happen, ‘The Eagle’ will play a key role in convincing Dana White of the same.
