Chael Sonnen Details How ‘Alpha’ Jake Paul Is Similar to Boxing Legends Mike Tyson and Oscar de la Hoya

Jake Paul and his brother Logan Paul have disrupted the combat sports world. The YouTuber turned professional boxer has brilliantly managed to leverage his social media following into multiple mega paydays in the sport of boxing. What started out as a new venture has slowly turned into an obsession for Paul, who aims to become a world champion before he is done with his boxing career and moves onto the NFL

In a recent upload on his YouTube channel, former title challenger turned pundit Chael Sonnen compared Tyson and Paul and detailed how they are similar. He said, “Jake Paul is going to fight at the mecca of Madison Square Garden. He is going to be the headliner and he is going to do it on August something. I think 13th. He has not announced an opponent. Now, that is an alpha move…That is a guy who is sure of himself. That is a guy who believes he’s sitting on an ace because there’s been only two boxers in history that can draw on their own. Oscar De La Hoya and Mike Tyson throughout his entire career.”

‘The American Gangster’ added, “So you now have a guy the boxing community hasn’t overly accepted. He’s going to headline over a gal who’s said to be really good at boxing…It’s his own girl. He didn’t have an opponent yet. That’s fascinating. I mean, that is such a cool move to the highest degree if it works.”

Since then, Paul has been on the sidelines enjoying his downtime. However, a recent announcement put out by him confirms his return for August 25th at the most iconic venue in all of combat sports. Given the trajectory that Paul has been on, it is safe to say that it is only going to get bigger and better from here for him.
