Klay Thompson calls Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr a ‘bum’ in shocking outburst after Warriors win NBA Championship
Klay Thompson clearly isn’t afraid to speak what’s on his mind. The Golden State Warriors superstar recently won his fourth NBA Championship on Thursday night after the ‘Dubs’ beat the Boston Celtics in six games at the 2022 NBA Finals.
While many would assume that Klay would have forgotten about some of the feuds he and the Warriors had during the course of the season, the 32-year-old did not forget to call out the players who dissed his team.
In a shocking interview after the Warriors beat the Celtics at the TD Garden, Klay Thompson hit back at Memphis Grizzlies player Jaren Jackson Jr. calling the 22-year-old a ‘bum’ and a ‘clown’ in a bizarre rant.
What did Klay Thompson say about Jaren Jackson Jr?
Although Klay didn’t mention Jackson by his name, it was clear who he was referring to when he was asked about some of the toughest challenges the team faced. The Warriors star said, “Strength in numbers. There was this one player on the Grizzlies who tweeted ‘Strength in numbers’ after they beat us. I was like, this freaking bum.”
Klay Thompson just destroyed Jaren Jackson Jr. for his March tweet:
“There's this 1 Grizzlies player who tweeted 'Strength in Numbers' after they beat us in the reg. season. It pissed me off so much. I can't wait to retweet that thing. Freakin bum.”pic.twitter.com/6c5mbiS6fG

Klay then apologized briefly for going over the top and added, “OK, OK, OK, sorry. That memory just popped up. You’re going to mock us? Like, you ain’t ever been there before, bruh. We’ve been there, we know what it takes, so to be there again, hold that. Twitter fingers. I don’t forget. There were a lot of people kicking us down.”
Why did Klay Thompson hit out at Jaren Jackson Jr?
Back in March, the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Warriors 123-95 and Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson put out a tweet which read: “Strength in numbers,” followed by a clapping emoji. In that game, the Grizzlies beat a Warriors side that did not have either of the Big 3 – Curry, Thompson or Green.
Strength in numbers 👏🏾

Klay Thompson appeared to have taken that dig a bit more seriously than the rest of the NBA and therefore, chose to call out Jackson after the Warriors won the Championship. While Thompson didn’t respond at the time of Jackson’s tweet, he clearly did not forget about the tweet.
