“I Have a Daughter to Raise”- Charles Oliveira Makes His Case for a Title Fight Against Conor McGregor Later This Year
The lightweight division is currently the only division in the UFC that does not have a champion, at least on paper. Fans and pundits alike ubiquitously regard Charles Oliveira, the best fighter at 15–pounds at the moment, but because he missed weight in his fight against Justin Gaethje, he was stripped of his belt.
‘Do Bronx’ continued, “I have a daughter to raise. Everyone wants to fight Conor, it’s not just me who wants to. Everyone knows that fighting Conor is very profitable. I’m talking about money. And Conor knows that, that everyone wants to fight him.”
Given how big Conor McGregor is, there is a strong possibility that he will be given the title shot right away since Oliveira himself wants the fight. Although the UFC would receive a lot of flak from the fans as well as the fighters if they did it, it would be a huge fight that would ultimately generate a lot of revenue for the company.
