“USADA Works for the UFC – Brendan Schaub Raises Concerns Over Conor McGregor’s Massive Physique Ahead of a Potential Return
Conor McGregor is set to make his highly anticipated return to the UFC octagon later this year. The UFC broke its PPV records last year as the company raked in over 9 million PPV buys. ‘The Notorious’ had a significant role to play in it as he and Dustin Poirier brought in over 3 million PPVs themselves over the two fights that they had.
It is safe to say that the UFC is lacking a huge PPV draw at the moment. The likes of Adesanya and Usman, among others do bring in a significant amount of PPV but it is nowhere close to what Conor McGregor brings in. And if the company has to surpass its total of PPV sales last year, Conor McGregor has to compete. ‘The Notorious’ started off by being able to box, until yesterday when he posted videos of him performing spinning kicks on the bag using the very leg he broke. Therefore, it is safe to say that ‘The Notorious’ is extremely close to 100% fitness and can be expected to return to MMA training anytime soon.
Conor McGregor’s physique a cause for concern?
In a recent podcast, Brendan Schaub shared his concerns over McGregor’s size in his recent posts. He said, “What worries me is, remember that UFC hires USADA. So USADA works for the UFC. So I’m curious on how much influence the UFC has on who they’re testing, when they’re testing them. Because for them not to test Conor for an entire year after a leg break… I know he’s on a yacht, I know it’s tough, but it’s very strange.”
When asked who he thinks McGregor would return to action against, he said, “Yeah, I don’t think that fight happens… that’d be a great fight… It sounds like Dana’s favoring Chandler.”
