UFC Legend Georges St-Pierre Breaks Down the Path to Victory for Both Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka in His Latest Social Media Post

In the main event at UFC 275, Jiri Prochazka takes on veteran Glover Teixeira for the light heavyweight belt. In just his third fight in the UFC, ‘Denisa’ will step under the bright lights in the hope of dethroning a champion who is almost twice his age with a multitude of experience under the brightest lights of the UFC

Ahead of the highly anticipated title fight, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre shared his thoughts on the bout and how it might play out. He said, “Very interesting fight. Teixeira I believe, in order to win, will need to use his experience, especially in the beginning of the fight when Prochazka is at his most dangerous. We know he always starts the fight very aggressively, right off the bat. Don’t ever count Teixeira out.”

‘Rush’ continued, “He’s [Teixeira] a very clever fighter and can do it all very very well. I believe he’ll need to weather the storm in the beginning. Perhaps use his wrestling to get Prochazka outside of his comfort sign and try to get him later on in the fight. If I’m Prochazka, he needs to do what he always does: start the fight hard and strong right off the bat, don’t let Teixeira use his experience against you.”

History awaits for Glover Teixeira against Jiri Prochazka

Between August 2016 and July 2018, Teixeira won just two of five fights in the UFC. And given his age, it would not have been surprising if the UFC cut him had he continued. However, Teixeira flipped a switch and went on a five-fight win streak which eventually gave way to a title shot. What made it even more impressive was that four of the five wins were stoppage wins.

By beating Blachowicz, Teixeira became the oldest champion in UFC history. Against a hungry up-and-coming talent in Prochazka, Teixeira has the opportunity to become the oldest champion to defend his belt in the UFC.
