Jiri Prochazka Promises to Show His ‘Evolved Self’ In the Upcoming Blockbuster Title Fight at UFC 275 Against Glover Teixeira

UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira is fired up ahead of UFC 275, where he is set to defend his title for the first time. The veteran Brazilian champ takes on Jiri Prochazka at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in what promises to be a blockbuster main event match-up.

Teixeira spoke out in a promotional video just days ahead of the fight and hyped up the explosive match-up to fans. It’s clear that Glover Teixeira is well aware of the threat that Prochazka poses to him and he’s excited to leave it all on the line against the always-dynamic Prochazka.

“I’m going to go after this guy with everything that I got. It’s going to be a war. And Still,”

On the flipside, Jiri Prochazka too recognizes the challenge that lies ahead of him as he gears up for the savvy veteran. Prochazka was impressed with Glover Teixeira’s ability to dominate the young, up and comers in the division and he’s sure to push the pace against Teixeira to claim the belt.

“I’m excited, I respect him because he’s a normal guy, a true warrior. He got the belt at his age, and he has beaten many guys and has won a lot of fights against young guys, strong guys. It’s amazing,” Prochazka said.

“Especially the Smith and Santos (wins) that’s the guys in the best shape and he proved that he is a true champion. But, it’s coming my time and I know it’s my time and I just have to do my things and my strategy. I will show my evolved self from my last fight.” [h/t bjpenn.com]

Jiri Prochazka has trained with Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo in Arizona ahead of the fight as he’s aware that being grounded by Teixeira is not a place he wants to be. Several fighters, including the former divisional champion, couldn’t stand up to Teixeira’s lethal top pressure that has led to several signature submission victories.

However, Prochazka’s power is perhaps one of the biggest factors that could allow him to become a UFC champion after just two fights in the organization.
