“There’s No Guarantees in the Fight Game”- Michael Bisping Suggests Conor McGregor Should Avoid Mike Tyson’s Advice of Tune-up Fights

Conor McGregor had an extremely active 2021. ‘The Notorious’ competed twice in a calendar year for the first time since 2016. HIs two fights against Dustin Poirier brought in over 3 million PPVs combined, which pushed the UFC total for PPVs sold in 2021 to over 9 million, which is a record for the promotion.

However, a horrific injury sustained against Dustin Poirier during their fight meant that ‘The Notorious’ would be out on the sidelines for a significant amount of time. Fortunately for fight fans, McGregor is inching ever so close to a return.

Michael Bisping offers advice for Conor McGregor

In a recent video he said, “The circumstances with McGregor right now, it’s a risky one. Tyson said have two or three fights before you go into a big fight like that. There’s a risk and there is a reward. There’s no guarantees in the fight game and if he loses to them, then it’s even worse if he was to go in against the champ, Charles Oliveira.”

‘The Count’ continued, “You go up against the champ Charles Oliveira, you get beat, oh well, so what? No big deal. Everybody’s losing to him right now. Charles Oliveira is the man. However, he loses to someone ranked down the pecking order, ranked five, six, seven, something like that. Now it’s a very, very different conversation that’s taking place.”

According to reports, the UFC is planning to schedule a fight between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor, his the latter’s return to the octagon. If that is the case, the fight will take place at 170-pounds.
