Jiří Procházka Looking to Change Up His Strategy Against Glover Teixeira: “My Game is Not Defending. My Game is All the Time Attacking”
Top UFC light heavyweight contender Jiri Prochazka is gearing up to face champion Glover Teixeira for his undisputed strap at UFC 275. Prochazka is arguably one of the most electrifying talents on the roster and he’s managed to make a splash in his short UFC tenure.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, the always-explosive Prochazka talked about having to change his style to counter Glover Teixeira’s lethal ground game. The Brazilian champion is a titan on the ground and he even won the undisputed belt by submitting Jan Blachowicz in dominant fashion.

Jiri Prochazka revealed that he worked certain positions with wrestling ace Henry Cejudo and he’s looking to unload some dangerous blows on the ground when he inevitably engages with Teixeira.
“I have to change this style, especially in the ground, especially in the wrestling,” Prochazka told MMA Fighting. “That’s why I drilled that with Henry [Cejudo] and then back in the Czech Republic with my coaches. Everybody knows my strong weapon and my weakest weakness. That’s why I start to drill that [on the ground]. That’s why I’ve started to prepare the dangerous techniques in that, and I believe in myself in that much, much more than ever.”
Additionally, he said that he was glad to have a credentialed grappler like Glover Teixeira as an opponent since he was able to learn and grow from the experience of having Teixeira as his foe.
“I’m glad for that to have an opponent like Glover,” Prochazka said, “because he gave me the opportunity to prepare myself in these styles, to be better and better.”
“With all respect, I have to be dominant on the ground,” Prochazka said. “Not like other opponents who are just taking Glover’s game, they just start defending. My game is not defending. My game is all the time attacking, all the time to be in the dominant positions. From the back, from the up guard, it doesn’t matter.”
Jiri Prochazka will favor his chances on the feet since Glover Teixeira’s chin has certainly been rocked over the years. However, the equation certainly tilts in favor of Glover Teixeira if this winds up on the canvas at UFC 275 in Singapore.
