Former UFC Fighter Backs Nate Diaz in Battle Against the UFC: ‘Dana and the UFC Not Wanting to Pay People’

Former UFC fighter David Michaud took to Twitter and weighed in on Nate Diaz’s current friction with the UFC. Diaz has been angling for a fight in the UFC for a long-time, however, it seems as though he’s not able to convince the company to put together a match-up that makes sense for all parties.

Diaz has called out several fighters and is even willing to take on match-ups that don’t necessarily make sense for him, so long as he secures his UFC bout.

“I been tryin to fight for a year and months I also tried to fight kamzat for the last month and a half but he was hurt, had visa issues, overweight and now his bitch*ss is off getting married instead of fighting wtf ? I’m tryin to get a fight wit a real fighter asap/July LFG.”

Notably, this is the last fight on Nate Diaz’s contract and he’s expressed a desire to leave the organization and try his hand at boxing. However, given his recent difficulties in securing a fight, many fans and fighters, including David Michaud, feel that the UFC is trying to block Nate Diaz from opportunities outside the company.

“Even crazier than Dana and the UFC not wanting to pay people is the fact that Dana doesn’t want guys to get paid outside of the UFC either. He does everything he can to stop people from making money.”

Could Nate Diaz end up facing Khamzat Chimaev

‘Borz’ Chimaev is arguably the biggest rising star in the UFC and it’s well known that the organization was looking to book Chimaev against Nate Diaz. This is far from a favorable stylistic match-up for Diaz and he reportedly shot down the fight on a prior occurrence.

However, Nate Diaz has reportedly since come around to the idea of fighting Chimaev if it means he can move on to other avenues. Khamzat Chimaev is likely to be the favorite in that fight. However, it has never been wise to count out Nate Diaz since he’s as versatile as they come.
