Manager Ali Abdelaziz Reveals the One Condition Under Which Dana White Will Grant Henry Cejudo a Shot at the Featherweight Title
Henry Cejudo is undoubtedly one of the greatest combat athletes of all time. Having won at almost every level of sport that he has competed in. ‘Triple C’ made history when he became the youngest American to have won a gold medal in wrestling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Since then, he successfully transitioned to MMA and conquered not one but two divisions in the UFC.
‘The King Of Cringe’ retired in 2020 after a stoppage win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. After two years away from the sport, Cejudo could not resist the urge to cement his place among the ‘GOATS’ in MMA. The former champion is back with vengeance and this time around he wants a third belt in the UFC.
In a recent interview with Brett Okamoto, Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz shed light on what will be the path to two-division champion status for his client. He said, “Yeah of course Henry is going to talk about it. But one of the things I said listen, at the end of the day these guys do big business… you go in there and beat TJ, you beat Aljamain and you ask for 145 they gonna give it to you. If you’re gone for two years and come and beat the best in the division…. I know them (UFC management) enough to know what they will do next.”
Abdelaziz continued, “They are very predictable, they’re not unpredictable and I think if Henry come back and prove himself, and he gives him the sense of security, if he win the 145-pound title he will defend it, they will give him a title shot. But if Dana White feels one bit that Henry is going to win the 145-pound title and bounce on him, Henry is not going to see this title.”
Henry Cejudo will have to promise activity for a shot at the title
Unlike Georges St-Pierre, who fought for the title once and retired, Henry Cejudo will have to show the UFC brass that he is committed to competing in the UFC.

If Cejudo’s plan is to come back to the UFC, win the championship and retire again then he will not get a title shot as pointed out by his manager. This will mean that Cejudo will have to commit to three fights at least on his return.
