Is Luka Doncic playing tonight vs Suns? Mavericks provide update on superstar ahead of Game 4
Prior to their massive game on Sunday, the Mavericks declared that Luka Doncic is fit and available to play in the game against the Suns. The three-time All-Star was seen in training with the rest of the squad and looked as determined as ever while he was with the team.
Doncic had suffered a calf strain towards the end of April in Dallas’ final regular season game. While there were concerns that he would miss the NBA playoffs, the Slovenian recovered quickly and was available for the first-round series against the Utah Jazz.
The focus will be on Doncic in Game 4 as he remains the catalyst for change for the Mavs if they are to level the series on Sunday. Doncic scored a stunning 45 points in Game 1 vs the Suns and then added another 35 in Game 2 but the Mavs lost both those encounters. However, his 26 points in Game 3 eventually led the way for the Mavs to get their first win in the series.
During the course of the regular season, Doncic averaged 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 8.1 assists. He is now averaging even better PPG in the playoffs. If the Mavs are to tie the series on Sunday, they will need Luka Doncic at his scoring best.
