ACTION PACKED! Watch as Charles Oliveira Scores Sensational First Round RNC Submission Victory Over Justin Gaethje at UFC 274

UFC lightweight Charles Oliveira proved that he is the best fighter at 155-pounds despite not having the belt over his shoulder. The Brazilian submission ace choked out former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje in the first round via rear-naked choke.

The end came at 3:22 of round one and Oliveira successfully extended his winning streak to 11 with his victory. However, after missing weight ahead of his title fight, he was stripped of his title and went on to solidify his position as the number one contender.

Charles Oliveira has racked up an impressive resume in recent years and his MMA record is starting to mirror that of lightweight GOAT Khabib Nurmagomedov. He is fresh off wins over Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje and there’s certainly a case to make for his status as the future lightweight GOAT.

However, he will have to successfully capture the title and make sure he continues his uber impressive win streak. The only other fighter with more consecutive wins at lightweight is Tony Ferguson, who is on a career decline.

Charles Oliveira: The man of the hour

‘Do Bronx’ has been in the news throughout fight week, in large part due to the fact that he missed weight. However, after his impressive submission victory, fans and fellow fighters will certainly forget about his mishap.

Several big names in the sport of MMA took to social media and heaped praise on Oliveira and labeled him as an all-time great lightweight fighter. Given what he has done recently, it’s certainly hard to make a case against him.

Not to mention, he faced adversity after being dropped by Gaethje early in the round and was able to wade through those troubled waters. He has established himself as the biggest submission threat in the history of the company and having Oliveira on your back has become a death sentence for all lightweight fighters.

He has begun chasing the all-time win record in the UFC as well and is just two victories away from being the fighter with the most wins in company history.
