Justin Gaethje Reveals the Biggest Change He Has Made in His Fight Camp Ahead of A Title Fight Against Charles Oliveira at UFC 274
Justin Gaethje takes on Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title at UFC 274. This will be Gaethje’s second shot at the title. However, this time around ‘The Highlight’ will be fighting in his home state of Arizona and not 7,000 miles across the Atlantic ocean in enemy territory without any fans in attendance.
In a recent podcast, Gaethje shared the biggest change he has made in this fight camp, which he hopes will win him the title on Saturday night. He said, “I have a nutritionist and a chef. She has been with me for like 24-weeks now. It is the biggest change I have made, my diet. I would do it myself (in past fights) I always thought I was eating healthy, but it turns out I never did. 10 weeks before Chandler I got her, and ever since then I have had her. She comes to my house at 5 serves dinner at 6:30, gone by 7.”
‘The Highlight’ went on to mention the benefits of having a professional take care of his nutrition needs. He said, “I would say the time and energy it takes to design and eat properly and go to the grocery store pick the right ingredients. I mean, I do not possess that knowledge that you need, I never had any kind of background when it comes to nutrition.”
Justin Gaethje vs Charles Oliveira; a closer look at the title fight
In the same podcast, Gaethje went on to admit that this would probably be his last chance at a UFC title. Therefore, the former interim champion has left no stone unturned in making sure that he gets the job done Saturday night, which will be easier said than done.
‘The Highlight’ takes on a man who has the most submission wins in the UFC, the most finishes, the most fight night bonuses among many other records that he holds. Oliveira has promised that he will keep the fight on the ground which might spell trouble for him. But if he manages to get the fight on the ground, it will be a long night in the office for ‘The Highlight’.
