Pictures Reveal Colby Covington’s Chipped Tooth Caused by Jorge Masvidal’s Attack Outside a Steakhouse in Miami
The UFC has been around for the better part of two decades. During that time, the promotion has seen a number of utterly bitter feuds. Sometimes it has been between fighters and certain other times it has been between Dana White and a fighter. However, in the history of the promotion, there has never been a rivalry as heated and as personal as Colby Covington vs Jorge Masvidal.
‘Chaos’ and ‘Gamebred’ were former friends, roommates, and training partners before an ugly split created one of the most heated rivalries the sport had ever seen. The two men got the chance to settle the scores at UFC 272 in March this year. It was Covington who had the last laugh as he dominated from start to finish to secure a lopsided unanimous decision win over his former friend.
During the buildup for the fight, Covington was relentless in his trash talk. He often crossed lines as he involved Masvidal’s family in the trash talk as well. ‘Chaos’ went on to brand ‘Gamebred’ a deadbeat dad, among other things which Masvidal did not take lightly at all. ‘Gamebred’ promised that he would make Covington pay for all his trash talk inside the octagon, but failed to inflict any damage on Covington.
Masvidal took it upon himself to hurt Covington and assaulted ‘Chaos’ right when he stepped out of a steakhouse where he was having dinner. Since then the legal proceedings of the case have been going and recent images leaked by Masvidal’s lawyer show a picture of Covington with a chipped tooth following the incident.
Jorge Masvidal might not be able to compete in the UFC this year
Just before his grudge match against Covington, Masvidal signed a mega new deal with the UFC, which puts him right on par with Israel Adesanya behind Conor McGregor as the highest-paid athletes in the UFC.
Unfortunately for Masvidal, if he is convicted of assaulting Covington he might be facing significant time behind bars. Therefore, there is a strong chance that fans might not see Masvidal compete this year at all.
