“Low Lives Like You That Are Around the Sport That Has Destroyed It for Everyone”- Kamaru Usman Hits Out at Showtime Executive Famously Branded a ‘Weasel’ by Conor McGregor
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Kamaru Usman has been making his case for a fight against boxing’s pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez for a while now. Usman believes that a fight between the pound-for-pound best across two sports is a fight that the fans would love to see and is something that has not been done before.
However, the welterweight UFC champion has faced a lot of backlash for the idea from multiple people in boxing. The most recent person to join that list was Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza, who replied to one of Usman’s tweet at Alvarez saying, “LOL. UFC fighters want that boxing paycheck but don’t understand that boxers have the autonomy to choose opponents. It’s not about not wanting “smoke.” It’s about professional self-determination, a foreign concept to those who let the kickboxing instructor choose their fights.”
Our fans know who the best is because “The best fight The best” not run & hide and fight nobody’s with those plastic belts & call themselves “super champion”. Keep quiet next time & if you need lessons on how to save that dying sport let me know I’ve got Dana on speed dial👊🏿

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ hit back at Espinoza saying, “Boxing is a beautiful “Art” with some amazing athletes, and even a couple of good promoters. The problem is low lives like you that are around the sport that has destroyed it for everyone. Take notes from What Dana has done.”
Usman continued, “Our fans know who the best is because “The best fight The best” not run & hide and fight nobody’s with those plastic belts & call themselves “super champion”. Keep quiet next time & if you need lessons on how to save that dying sport let me know I’ve got Dana on speed dial.”

Kamaru Usman is slowly but surely creeping his way into the boxing community
Just a few months back, Usman failed to even get a reaction beyond ‘payday’ from the champion Canelo Alvarez. Nowadays, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is going back and forth with multiple personalities in the boxing world just after a single tweet.
Although this does not guarantee a fight with Alvarez down the line, it makes sure that Usman’s name stays buzzing in the boxing community. It will be interesting to see if the back and forth actually materializes into a fight for ‘The Nigerian Nightmare.’
