“I Don’t Know if Bisping Even Has a Big Enough Name”- Jake Paul Shares His Reservations on a Fight With Michael Bisping
Jake Paul has been extremely active as a fighter since he turned professional. In 2020, his first year as a professional, Paul fought twice. Last year, ‘The Problem Child’ walked away with $45 million after three fights against the likes of Ben Askren and two fights against Tyron Woodley.
So far this year, Paul has not fought yet. He has stated that he will return to the ring in August this year. Unfortunately for Paul, at this point in time, there is no confirmed opponent. While there is a long list of names to choose from, the former Disney star is yet to zero in on who he wants to face next.
Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is one name on the long list of possible candidates for ‘The Problem Child’. The two men have been going back and forth on social media over the past few days and in a recent interview, Paul shares his thoughts on a potential fight with ‘The Count’.
He said, “I am keeping one eye on Michael Bisping as well but just as joke. It would be an easy fight but, that could be interesting if I knockout Bisping and then Ashton, fights Cody Garbrandt on the undercard. We would make light work of all of them but I do not think they’re actually down. Obviously, I don’t know if Bisping even has a big enough name to make it lucrative.”
Jake Paul vs Michael Bisping is not a fight that will take place
During his fighting career, Bisping fought with one eye. This was not disclosed till after he was done fighting. Now that the sporting commissions are aware of the same, getting a fight sanctioned for Bisping is going to be extremely tough.
Also, ‘The Count’ has been out of action for five years and during that time has undergone multiple surgeries to his knee as well as his back. Given how Paul is as a person, this might just be a tactic to divert attention from the person that he is actually going to fight.
