“I Would Not Mind Slapping Him Around”- Belal Muhammad Calls Out ‘Juiced up’ Conor McGregor for a Fight at 170-Pounds

Belal Muhammad made it eight wins in a row after a dominant win over Vicente Luque the past week. ‘Remember the name’ was successful in avenging his loss to Luque a few years back when he got knocked out cold. Given the run of form he is on right now, it is only natural that Muhammad is now in the conversation on who should get the next title shot.

The new welterweight rankings show Muhammad has taken a huge leap forward and is now the number five ranked welterweight in the world behind the likes of Edwards, Covington, Chimaev, and Burns.

In a recent interview with Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Muhammad shared his thoughts on who might be next for him. He said, “Leon literally has the worst luck ever with fights, so if he gets a fight booked there is a 90% chance it is going to get un-booked. And for me I just don’t think Usman is fully healthy… Is Leon really going to stay out on the sidelines until September, October, November, none of that really makes sense to me.”

‘Remember the name’ continued, “Also you still got the Irish gimp that is talking about coming up to 170 I would not mind slapping him around too. Yeah, we’ve gone back and forth here and there, he’s talking about it, he looks like he has juiced up a little bit so we will be the same size. I am not the biggest 170-pounder.”

Who is next for Belal Muhammad after an impressive eight-fight win streak?

Leon Edwards is set to take on Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title later this year. Dana White recently confirmed that he would like to see Khamzat Chimaev face Colby Covington next. This leaves Belal Muhammad in an awkward spot without a fight.

Muhammad said that he would not take up a back-up role for Usman vs Edwards, but at the same time, ‘Remember the name’ does not have an opponent ranked higher than him that he can fight. Who do you think Belal Muhammad should fight next? Let us know in the comments below!
