Khamzat Chimaev Reveals the One UFC Fighter Who Hit Him the Hardest, And No; It’s Not Gilbert Burns
UFC welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev spoke out on the ‘Smesh Bros’ YouTube channel and talked about his fight against Gilbert Burns. ‘Borz’ was pushed to the limit in the contest as Burns made sure to prove the oddsmakers wrong with his display of grit and skill.
Burns successfully managed to rock Khamzat Chimaev on the feet and sent him to the canvas. Chiefly, such a visual was one that wasn’t seen before by MMA fans, who are accustomed to seeing Chimaev go out and absolutely brutalize his opponent. In fact, ‘Borz’ had just absorbed two significant strikes in his entire 4-fight UFC career, which is an insane statistic by any measuring stick.
Who hits Khamzat Chimaev the hardest?
Given the way Gilbert Burns pushed Khamzat Chimaev to his limits inside the cage, several fans would assume that Burns landed the heaviest shots on Chimaev that he’s never experienced before. However, the Swedish-Russian fighter was quick to put that notion to bed as he revealed who has truly hit him the hardest in his career, and no, it’s not Gilbert Burns.
“Every opponent’s got strengths and weaknesses. Everyone’s power is different. Alexander Gustafsson hit way harder! I’ve had plenty of battles with him.”
‘Borz’ revealed that his long-time training partner Alexander ‘The Mauler’ Gustafsson is the fighter who has tagged him the hardest. Both men train over at Allstar Training Center in Stockholm, Sweden, and ‘The Mauler’ has heaped high praise on Chimaev and his abilities.

It’s no surprise that Alexander Gustafsson is the hardest puncher that Khamzat Chimaev has faced, considering Gustafsson is now a heavyweight. Moreover, he spent the majority of his career fighting at 205-pounds and he has sensational knockout wins over top fighters, including the current light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira.
Training with Alexander Gustafsson has prepared Chimaev to face even the scariest of fighters in his weight class. It’s no surprise that Chimaev has become a dominant force given the company he keeps over at Allstar Training Center.
