Here’s Why Daniel Cormier Thinks Khamzat Chimaev’s Friendship With Darren Till Is a ‘Mistake’
Khamzat Chimaev returns to action at UFC 273 against the number two ranked welterweight in the world Gilbert Burns. Many believe that this will be the toughest test of his career as he takes on an elite fighter for the first time as a professional mixed martial artist.
In the build-up to his fight, Chimaev has been in the news not for the fight but for his budding friendship with fellow UFC fighter Darren Till. The two fighters first came together when Till went over to the All-Stars Gym in Stockholm to train with Chimaev. Since then ‘Borz’ and ‘The Gorilla’ have been inseparable featuring prominently on each other’s social media as well as YouTube channels.
While fans have loved the ‘Smesh Bros’ content, Daniel Cormier believes that friendship with Darren Till is not the right move for ‘Borz’. He said, “Mankind was from parts unknown. I’m like ‘Where’s this dude from?’ Even though I knew it was Cactus Jack. I knew it was Cactus Jack. I knew underneath that there was Cactus Jack. It was like what is this. Like it’s like Khamzat. There’s like so many questions. And every time he comes, he comes in, he dominates, he’s gone.”
‘DC’ continued, “Now, I love the whole buddy-buddy thing with Darren Till. I think it’s a mistake, I think he should continue to be a mystery to people. I think he should spend as less little time in front of the public and showing who he is, pulling the curtain back. I’d pull the curtain back as little as I could if I’m Khamzat. Just because the mystery is good for him. Um… but yes he’s very scary.”

Is Daniel Cormier right in his assessment of the Khamzat Chiamev- Darren Till friendship?
Chimaev is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the UFC right now. A win over Burns will only increase the hype and attention that he receives.

‘Borz’ has all the qualities to become a super-star in the UFC, but that will not happen if he is not present in the media. Therefore, Daniel Cormier’s assessment of the situation seems a bit misconstrued.
