“I Fear No Man”- When Conor McGregor Shared an Insight Into His Approach to the Fight Game

Conor McGregor signed for the UFC as a two-weight world champion with Cage Warriors. When he signed for the UFC he made it clear pretty early on that he wanted to replicate his status as a two-weight world champion in the UFC as well. Since day one, ‘The Notorious’ was extremely good at capturing the imagination of the fans.

His ability to chip away at his opponent’s confidence with his mind games and his ability to back up the talk with breath-taking performances inside the octagon made him extremely popular with the UFC fans.

‘The Notorious’ headlined an event just three fights into his UFC career which is not common at all. In a throwback clip, McGregor shares his mindset on fighting when asked if he was scared of fighting Jose Aldo. He said, “Afraid with Aldo? I fear no man. I’ve said this before, if you breathe oxygen, it’s fair game. I will come and take you out. I don’t fear nothing.”

What’s is next for Conor McGregor on his return to the octagon?

Conor McGregor is without a doubt the biggest draw in the UFC. His two fights with Poirier in 2021 sold over three million PPVs combined. Therefore, a return to action for McGregor is good news for the fans as well as the promotion. However, there are a multitude of options for McGregor once he decides to return to the octagon.

The most obvious matchups for ‘The Notorious’ are rematches against the likes of Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier. However, at this point in time, it seems as though the UFC is keen on getting a fight done between Poirier and Nate Diaz, if that were to happen within the next few months, ‘Mystic Mac’ could return to face the winner of that fight.

Alternatively, Jorge Masvidal has also emerged as an option for ‘The Notorious’ to face on his return given ‘Gamebred’s’ recent run of form. A fight between the two would sell an impressive number of PPVs considering they’re the top two biggest attractions in the sport. However, only time will tell who McGregor will face on his much-awaited return to action in the UFC
