“Both Can Throw and Both Have Weak Chins”- Jake Paul Suggests the Next Logical Matchup for Jorge Masvidal After UFC 272

Jorge Masvidal took on Colby Covington in an epic grudge match in the main event at UFC 272. A compelling backstory and the fact that Jorge Masvidal is one of the biggest stars in the UFC meant that this was one of the very rare occasions where a non-title fight headlined the PPV. ‘Chaos’ reigned supreme as he dominated from the very first second of the fight. 

A few hours back, YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul shared his thoughts on the current situation and what the UFC should do next with Jorge Masvidal. He said, “We already know Conor can’t finish Diaz. Right fight to make is Masvidoll vs Macgregor. 50/50 fight, ends in KO. Both can throw and both have weak chins.”

Masvidal and Paul are no strangers to each other. In the build-up to his fight against Askren, ‘The Problem Child’ received strong support from ‘Gamebred’. However, the relationship soured when Paul signed to fight Woodley, who happens to be good friends with the ‘BMF’ Jorge Masvidal. Since then, both Paul and Masvidal have gone at each other multiple times, making a series of accusations about the other. 

Jorge Masvidal vs Conor McGregor the fight to make?

Jorge Masvidal is now on a three-fight skid and has been beaten comprehensively in all three of those fights. At this point in his career, Masvidal would have to string together a series of impressive wins if he were to fight for the title once again. ‘Gamebred’ mentioned that he is not done and that he will be back as soon as possible. 

‘Gamebred’ recently signed a bumper new deal with the promotion placing him among the top three highest-paid athletes in the UFC alongside Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya. ‘The Notorious’ is set for a return to the octagon towards the second half of this year. He has expressed interest in facing Jorge Masvidal multiple times. Given where both men are in their respective careers right now, this would be the perfect time to book the fight. Additionally, the fight would be a runaway success in terms of PPV sales given the status of both McGregor and Masvidal.
