65k Capacity Las Vegas Raiders’ Home Ground to Host Only the Second Ever El Clasico in the United States

For just the second time in history, Barcelona and Real Madrid will play the El Clasico outside of Europe. On July 23, one of the four matches the Catalans will play on their US trip, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona will square off once more. a location that can withstand the stress. The location of the next Clasico, a world-class stadium in Las Vegas, has already been made official. On July 23, another Clasico will be played in Las Vegas‘ Allegiant Stadium, which has a capacity of 65,000 and serves as the NFL home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

This is the second time that Barca and Real Madrid have faced off on American soil. Their first encounter took place on July 30, 2017, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in front of a sold-out crowd of 64,000 people. The Catalans ultimately prevailed 3-2 on the strength of goals from Leo Messi, Ivan Rakitic, and Gerard Pique.

Las Vegas Raiders home stadium to host the 2nd ever El Clasico in the US

The Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, will serve as the venue for this event. With the intention of bringing additional sports to “Sin City,” the stadium opens its doors in 2020. It will now play home to Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, one of the biggest games in the entire globe.

Barca coach Xavi Hernandez will also be practicing for the upcoming season with games against Real Madrid on July 23 in Las Vegas and Juventus on July 26 in Dallas, in addition to the friendly already planned against Inter Miami FC on July 19 and the New York Red Bulls on July 30. The parties have clashed two further times outside of Spain.

The most recent was the Spanish Super Cup semifinal between Real and Madrid in Riyadh earlier this year, which likewise resulted in a 3-2 Real triumph. The oldest of all was the match between Madrid and Barquisimeto, Venezuela, on May 30, 1982, which similarly resulted in a 1-0 Madrid victory.
