5 Potential destinations for WR Odell Beckham Jr ahead of the 2022-23 NFL season

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr has been a free agent for well over a day at this point. The three-time Pro Bowler is reportedly willing to take his time making a choice, despite some speculations regarding prospective landing destinations.

Despite having a difficult season, with only 17 catches for 232 yards in six games, OBJ has generated a lot of attention during his spell with the LA Rams. Here’s a guy that had five seasons of 1,000 yards or more in his first six years before going through a difficult 2020 season due to injuries. The five NFL free agents who would be the best matches for OBJ are examined here.

Since his infamous catch that made him famous, Odell Beckham Jr. has gone a long way. Despite some diva-like characteristics, the wide receiver is apparently a fantastic teammate. He had a largely disappointing stint with the Cleveland Browns before becoming an important part of the Los Angeles Rams’ successful Super Bowl run.

Currently a free agent, the wide receiver is rehabbing from an ACL tear sustained during the aforementioned Super Bowl victory. Though he is claimed to have stated that he would return to the Browns if Baker Mayfield wasn’t the starting quarterback, there hasn’t been much discussion about where he would wind up next.

NFL expert Michael Balko recently speculated on five probable destinations for the former LSU standout before the start of the new season in a tweet.

Where will Odell Beckham Jr play his football next season?

Any one of the five clubs’ needs may be satisfied by Beckham. A wide receiver is needed by the New Orleans Saints, in part because Michael Thomas has a history of injuries. The club will give Jameis Winston another chance to start as QB in 2022, thus having depth at WR would be beneficial. There is no assurance Beckham will be prepared for the start of the season, though.

Without a doubt, the Rams will warmly welcome their former receiver back to the team. With Robert Woods gone, he would complete a trio of offensive players that already included Cooper Kupp, the Super Bowl MVP, and freshly acquired Allen Robinson.

Stefon Diggs is a top-tier wide receiver for Josh Allen. Diggs’ defense would undoubtedly be distracted by Beckham if he were lined up next to him, thus elevating the Buffalo Bills’ attack.

Star DeAndre Hopkins, a wide receiver with the Arizona Cardinals, was suspended for six games after testing positive for performance-enhancing substances. If Beckham is available within that time period, he might contribute to Kliff Kingsbury’s offense by filling the vacuum.

Davante Adams, a talented wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in the deal. Once more, they neglected to address the wide receiver shortage in the first round of the draft. In what may be one of his final seasons, Aaron Rodgers is left to lead a squad made up of numerous young players. The former LSU standout will undoubtedly help their offense, it can be expected.
