5 Players To Steer Clear Of During Your Fantasy Football Drafts
Fantasy football drafts are coming up and as everyone is looking for late-round steals to win the drafts, you need to be aware of these 5 players who are going to be bust for your team.
Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs
Both of these players were not able to reach extensions at the deadline, and as Saquon Barkley admits he might have to sit out for the season, his situation is uncertain and unpredictable. Wasting a first or second round pick does not make sense with all the other talent on the board, and you do not want to be the person that takes a chance on Barkley this year, because it may backfire. Jacobs on the other hand hasn’t spoken on the possibility of sitting out, you do not want to draft someone when they may potential miss the entire season. Instead in your second round target running backs like, Derrick Henry, Rhamondre Stevenson, Tony Pollard and possibly even Nick Chubb or Johnathan Taylor.

James Cook
Dating back to his days at Georiga, James Cook has never been the type of running back to take a significant amount of carries and lead a backfield. So what is going to change this year? Nothing. This is clearly a pass first offense, and veteran Damien Harris will most likely split carries with Cook. Do not take Cook, please. If you are going to take a RB around the 90th overall pick, take AJ Dillion or Alvin Kamara, just not Cook.
Miles Sanders
Do be fooled by Sanders stats last year. He finished as the 5th best rusher in terms of yards and the RB10 in fantasy. However, he was playing behind the best offensive line in football, now he is in Carolina and expected to possibly be a workhorse back. That is a work load he cannot keep up with and despite being the RB10 last year he is not even going to finish within the top 20 RBs in the 2023 fantasy season.
Quentin Johnston
Please do not draft the rookie out of TCU. Johnston is the 3rd option in this system behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Im also not a fan of his skillset, he is a 6’3 WR but isn’t physical enough to be productive in the NFL, he doesn’t take advantage of his height but stretching the field vertically. He is the WR44 this year ahead of guys like Juju and Rashod Bateman who both have tremendous upside unlike Johnston, who may be an elite WR in short and intermediate routes, but will hold no value in fantasy.
