3 Reasons why Washington Commanders have Odds in favor of winning Super Bowl 57

When the Washington Commanders decided to trade for veteran quarterback Carson Wentz this offseason, they may have been trying to make a big statement. Unfortunately for Wentz, he will have less support than he enjoyed with the Colts. The Commanders may have a new name and appearance, but their roster appears to still require extensive remodelling. The performance of quarterback Carson Wentz will likely determine the course of the Washington Commanders 2022 season.

1) Terry McLaurin

In the league, Terry McLaurin is a reliable No. 1 option.

McLaurin, who is 26 years old, should have rapid growth. He has been working on displaying his speed more with yards after the catch and downfield plays. He ran a 4.35 40-yard sprint at the NFL combine.

It has been difficult for McLaurin to be partnered with so many quarterbacks, he admits. But he is confident that it will finally work in his favor.

2) Jamin Davis, LB, Washington Commanders X-Factor

In 16 games as a rookie, Jamin Davis recorded a total of 76 tackles and one sack; this production will need to increase in year two.

Davis needs to make plays either in the middle or on the outside while his strong defensive line handles blocks for him. He could be able to improve a running defense that was eighth in the league last season and gave up just 104 yards per game on the ground.

The quick linebacker will advance in defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio’s plan if he can take advantage of another offseason in the NFL to become used to the looks opposing offenses will give him.

3) Jahan Dotson

It would be extremely beneficial for this offense if youngster Jahan Dotson could spark things off right away.

Jahan Dotson, a wide receiver, was taken by the Washington Commanders in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft (with pick No. 16 overall). In exchange for picks 16, 98, and 120, Washington traded their No. 11 overall pick to the New Orleans Saints.

Dotson (5-11, 184) played at Pennsylvania State University from 2018 to 21 and started 38 of his 42 games. During that time, he caught 183 passes for 2757 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also ran for 18 yards on eight carries and scored a touchdown. He finished his playing career as the all-time leader at Penn State in punt return average (17.8), tied for second place overall in career receptions, receiving touchdowns, and receiving yards.
