3 Reasons why Detroit Lions can win Super Bowl 57

The Detroit Lions were regarded as the league’s laughing stock to a considerable extent last season. Detroit first gladly gave up on Matthew Stafford as a quarterback. While in Detroit, Stafford received praise for his supernatural arm but was frequently criticized for failing to guide the team to victory. But as soon as he arrived in Los Angeles with the Rams, he turned out to be the crucial missing element in their championship jigsaw.

While Stafford received his first Super Bowl ring, Detroit, on the other hand, remained still in the stands. Without Stafford, they stumbled to only three victories for the whole year.

Detroit Lions supporters should have cause for hope as the second season without Stafford draws closer. Despite the fact that the previous season did not go as planned, the 2022–23 season promises to be an entirely different tale. The Lions are anticipated to significantly improve.

The Detroit Lions will have a chance to win next season for the following three reasons

1) The offense in Detroit is underappreciated

This offseason, the addition of wide receiver D.J. Chark went unnoticed. Understandably, massive transactions in the position and contracts with new records dominated the news. Chark, though, has a lot to offer. He might have a significant influence in an offense that struggled for most of last year without a star receiver. At six feet and four inches tall, Chark has a 40-yard time of 4.34 seconds. With the Jacksonville Jaguars, he has 147 receptions for 2,042 yards and 15 touchdowns in 43 games.

Regarding receivers, Amon-Ra St. Brown sprung into action following a subdued first half of the 2021 season. He had 912 yards and five touchdowns at the end of the season. In the final six weeks of the season, these five touchdowns were scored. Detroit will be able to at least keep up with some of the NFL’s best scoring teams if he can maintain this form.

Opposing defenses will have more trouble as receiving skill grows and is added. Opposing defenders could resolve to stop the run and concentrate on tight end T.J. Hockenson for most of 2021. Hockenson may have a lot more room to manoeuvre with St. Brown now a factor and Chark’s skill at creating plays.

2) Jared Goff is successful

Jared Goff, who was once thought of as the Los Angeles Rams’ savior, was inadvertently given to the Detroit Lions as part of the trade that sent Stafford the opposite way.

Goff was criticized before the season began for the Rams’ failure to win the Super Bowl after leading them to the championship game in 2018.

Goff had just one losing season prior to flinging the ball all over the field while donning a Lions uniform. Of course, he had a 0-7 record in his debut season in the league at the time. Since then, Goff has had four straight winning seasons, including back-to-back seasons in which he was selected for the Pro Bowl.

Similar to his debut year in Los Angeles, Goff had trouble adjusting to his new environment and led the Lions to only three victories in 2021–22.

Expect a very different player from the one that first appeared in 2021 in year two. Goff should gain from suffering setbacks and become more open to risky throws down the field while guiding the Detroit Lions to more victories.

3) The easiest NFL schedule belongs to Detroit

The fact that the Lions will have the fifth-easiest schedule in 2022 is another reason for hope in Detroit. Their opponents in the next season had a 135-154 record the previous year and will only include five clubs who advanced to the 2021 Playoffs (the Bills, Packers, Patriots, Eagles, and Cowboys).

Last but not least, it’s important to note that the Lions completed the 2021 regular season with some encouraging offensive momentum, scoring 29 points in four of their final six games.
