The former Warrior finally made his 2022-23 debut on Monday versus the Detroit Pistons after undergoing core muscle surgery in the offseason. Unfortunately, he sprained his right ankle in that one, ending his night after only 13 minutes of action, keeping him off the floor in Portland's previous two games. While it's certainly good for the Blazers to get Payton out there, he will likely work his way back to a full workload, so he's a risky fantasy option until he demonstrates he's 100% healthy.

It's uncertain what kind of role he's going to have with the Blazers. Possibly, Payton holds deep league value, but it's hard to imagine him being able to produce 12-team league value.
