Jamal Murray Probable For Friday
Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray (knee) is listed as probable for Friday's game against Cleveland. He has returned from a bad knee injury and the team has managed his workload carefully, with Murray not yet playing both games of a back-to-back this season. However, it appears that this will change with Friday's matchup after Murray enjoyed an easy 21-minute night against the Clippers on Thursday in a blowout win. Murray did some very efficient scoring Thursday, getting 18 points with only 10 attempts from the field, and will look to do so again against a weakened Cavaliers backcourt that will be missing Donovan Mitchell (rest).

Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray (knee) and small forward Michael Porter Jr. (heel) have been deemed questionable to play in Friday's contest vs. Portland. Murray was held out of Tuesday's game as he works his way back from a knee injury that cost him all of last season, while Porter looks to suit up for the first time since Nov. 22. Christian Braun made his first NBA start in place of Murray and would figure to be an upside DFS play again should the 25-year-old remain sidelined. Bruce Brown has seen his role expand in the month that Porter has been unavailable, although the 24-year-old will likely be eased back into the rotation whenever he is officially given the green light to return. Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on Denver's final injury report.

The Nuggets point guard will miss Friday's contest versus the Dallas Mavericks. Not only is Murray out, but two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic also is out due to COVID. Although it doesn't bode well in the win-loss column, Denver's role players can increase their counting numbers during the two stars' absence. Bones Hyland's fantasy managers are licking their chops, as the shoot-first guard has a chance to make another splash like he did last season. The backup point guard is already posting a higher usage rate (30.7) this season than he did during an injury-riddled campaign with the Nuggets in 2021-22. Expect some high-scoring numbers from Hyland while Murray recovers.

To go along with the injury management, Murray still has to shake off a considerable amount of rust. Wednesday night was his first game since April of 2021. Once he gets a few more games back under his belt, fantasy managers should start to see him return to form. For right now, stay tuned to see if he experiences any setbacks that would keep him out of the next game.

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray (hamstring) was seen limping to the locker room during Friday's preseason matchup against the Chicago Bulls. This is concerning after Murray missed basically all of last season due to a torn ACL in 2021. It sounds like this is a non-related hamstring issue, but those do have a tendency to linger. The Nuggets are likely going to be cautious with Murray early in the season. Although, he'll have fantastic fantasy value, assuming he can eventually get back to full speed.
