    Aaron Ashby To Return Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Aaron Ashby (shoulder) will come off the 15-day injured list to start a bullpen game on Tuesday against the New York Mets, according to skipper Craig Counsell. Ashby has been out since late August with left shoulder inflammation, but he'll return to the team for the final few weeks of the regular season as the Brew Crew try to earn the last wild-card spot in the National League. The 24-year-old southpaw is expected to pitch mostly in a relief role for Milwaukee the rest of the way, which makes him unattractive in fantasy. In 23 appearances (17 starts) for the Brewers in 2022, Ashby has gone 2-10 with a 4.58 ERA (4.05 FIP), a 1.43 WHIP, 116 strikeouts and 43 walks over 96 1/3 frames.

Aaron Ashby Will Return As Reliever

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Aaron Ashby (shoulder) will throw off a mound Sunday or Monday but is not being stretched out to start. He was placed on the injured list on August 22 with left shoulder inflammation. The Brewers are looking to add him to the roster soon, and the shift to relief allows for a quicker return to the staff. He owns a 4.58 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and a 116:43 K: BB across 96 1/3 innings in 2022. With the decision to shift Ashby to the bullpen, he mainly becomes a stash in dynasty leagues and loses most of his fantasy appeal in 2022.

Aaron Ashby Lands On Injured List

The Milwaukee Brewers placed left-hander Aaron Ashby (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with left shoulder inflammation and recalled left-hander Jason Alexander from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Ashby's injured list stint is retroactive to Aug. 20. The 24-year-old southpaw's shoulder was probably bothering him in his last start on Friday against the Chicago Cubs, when he surrendered six runs on eight hits in just five innings of work. He is 2-10 on the year with a 4.58 ERA (4.07 FIP), 1.43 WHIP, 116 strikeouts and 43 walks in 96 1/3 innings over 23 outings (17 starts) in his second big-league season. Ashby is relevant in mixed fantasy leagues because of his strikeout upside, but walks continue to be an issue for the young lefty. Alexander could replace Ashby in Milwaukee's starting rotation.
