Edward Cabrera Exits Saturday's Start Early

Miami Marlins pitcher Edward Cabrera (ankle) exited Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers after appearing to aggravate his right ankle injury. He was removed from Saturday's start after his warmup pitches during the bottom of the fourth inning. The 24-year-old struck out five over three perfect innings before exiting. His issue isn't considered long-term, and he is expected to return before Spring Training starts, but his 2022 season is over. Cabrera owned a 3.01 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 75 strikeouts across 71 23 innings in 2022.

Edward Cabrera Set To Start On Saturday

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (ankle) is in line to start on Saturday vs. the Milwaukee Brewers. The lanky hurler left his last start early after twisting his ankle while fielding a bunt in the fourth inning against the Nationals. He will most likely be on a pitch count as this will be his final start of the season and the Marlins won't want to push him too hard. The 24-year-old Cabrera owns a 6-4 record, 3.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 70:33 K/BB ratio over 68 2/3 innings (13 starts). He's a name to keep an eye on in fantasy drafts next season.

Edward Cabrera Leaves Early With Ankle Injury

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (ankle) has left Sunday's start early after twisting his right ankle while fielding a bunt in the fourth inning. Cabrera threw some warmup pitches after the injury occurred, according to beat writer Christina De Nicola, but he was pulled from the contest anyway. Cabrera surrendered two earned runs to go along with three punchouts over 3 2/3 innings before leaving the game. The team should provide an update on his status shortly. Jeff Brigham has taken over for the Marlins.
