Dustin May Gets $1.675 Million To Avoid Arbitration

The Los Angeles Dodgers and pitcher Dustin May agreed to a one-year, $1.675 million contract to avoid salary arbitration. His career has been plagued with injuries, but a healthy Dustin May is not a pitcher you want to face in the batter's box. He has made just 11 starts over the past two seasons, but the Dodgers hope to get him healthy for 2023. May made his season debut in August after recovering from Tommy John surgery. In his six starts in 2022, the 25-year-old displayed a 4.50 ERA along with 29 strikeouts and a 4.38 FIP. If May can stay healthy for the bulk of 2023, he will be included in the Dodgers' five-man rotation consisting of Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, Tony Gonsolin, and Noah Syndergaard. If everything goes right for the right-hander, he should be a reliable contributor in the fantasy world.

Dustin May Could Work In Relief In The Postseason

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Dustin May (back) could work as a reliever in the postseason if he's able to make it back during the playoffs, according to manager Dave Roberts. The nature of May's injury is unclear, and the team has been coy about it, but if Roberts is indicating that he has a chance to pitch in the playoffs, that's somewhat encouraging. May was put on the injured list earlier this week after posting a 4.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB over 30 innings (six starts) this season.

Dustin May Placed On Injured List

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Dustin May (back) has been placed on the 15-day injured list. The 25-year-old was clearly battling through some back tightness during his last start. The team will give him some time off and place May on the injured list. His regular season is over, but May could still play during the postseason. Right-hander Andre Jackson has been recalled in a corresponding move. The Dodgers are hopeful that May won't miss more than just those 15 days.
