  Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux (back) will get live at-bats at Camelback Ranch in Arizona on Thursday and will rejoin the Dodgers on Friday. He's expected to play in the series against the division-rival San Francisco Giants this weekend. The 24-year-old hasn't played for the Dodgers since Sept. 1 due to a back injury, but he's nearing his return to the major-league lineup. With Lux injured recently, Chris Taylor has seen most of the playing time at the keystone in LA, with Joey Gallo getting more at-bats in left field. In 369 at-bats for the Dodgers in 2022, Lux is slashing a strong .293/.368/.428 with six home runs, 42 RBI, 62 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 418 plate appearances and 115 games in his fourth big-league campaign.

  Gavin Lux Won't Play In Series Versus Giants

  Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts said that infielder Gavin Lux (back) won't play in this week's series against the division-rival San Francisco Giants. Lux is still recovering from a cortisone injection that he received on Saturday. It means that the 24-year-old won't return until the start of another series against the San Diego Padres on Friday, at the earliest. The Dodgers have the National League West locked up, so they won't push Lux in the final month of the regular season.   Gavin Lux Remains Out Of Lineup, Could Return Saturday

  Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux (neck) remains out of the starting lineup Friday but could return Saturday. Lux has been dealing with a stiff neck since Tuesday, which has held him out of the Dodgers' last three games. He was able to hit in the batting cages today, though, and the team is hopeful that he will return Saturday. Even if he doesn't, it appears as though his return isn't far away. Lux has had a nice breakout season, and an even nicer second half, in which he is slashing .312/.381/.505 with two homers and two steals over 105 plate appearances. He should be owned in any standard or deeper league formats, especially point leagues.
