Edmundo Sosa Could Be On Phillies Playoff Roster
Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Edmundo Sosa (hamstring) is headed to meet the team at Busch Stadium in St. Louis for the team's National League Wild-Card Series this weekend against the Cardinals for a possible return from his hamstring injury. After being traded from the Cardinals to the Phillies this year, Sosa hit .315/.345/.593 with a .937 OPS, two home runs, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and three stolen bases in his 25 games with the Phillies. The 26-year-old's season was in jeopardy when he suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain in mid-September, but there's a chance he could serve as a bench player for the Phillies in St. Louis this weekend if he checks out fine. Sosa has mostly been a defense-first player, but he has impressed with his bat in his short time in Philly.
