  Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez is not in Thursday's starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles. It appears to just be a regular day of rest for Jimenez with the White Sox recently being eliminated from postseason contention. He's hit well in the final month of the regular season, going 25-for-87 (.287) with seven home runs, 22 RBI and 16 runs scored in 24 games for the Pale Hose. Jimenez has gone hitless in his last seven at-bats over two games, though, with three strikeouts, so the White Sox are giving him a day to rest. With Jimenez out, Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and is batting third, while Andrew Vaughn is at first base and is hitting fifth against Twins right-hander Louie Varland on Thursday.

The 25-year-old continues to be injury-prone, but he's a must-start for fantasy managers when he's on the field. First baseman Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and will bat third, while Andrew Vaughn slots in at the cold corner and is hitting second against Twins right-hander Sonny Gray on Friday.

  Eloy Jimenez Leaves Game Early Thursday

  Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (leg) left Thursday's game early against the Kansas City Royals with right leg soreness. The White Sox are calling him day-to-day. Jimenez continues to deal with right leg issues, but hopefully he won't be out for long. Before leaving in the seventh inning, Jimenez went 0-for-3 with a strikeout while serving as the designated hitter. Josh Harrison replaced him in the contest. The 25-year-old only has 189 at-bats over the course of the 2022 season due to different ailments along the way, but he entered Thursday's action with a strong .307/.376/.466 slash line with an .841 OPS, eight home runs, 30 RBI and 22 runs scored in 55 games. Jimenez has plenty of tools, but he's played in over 100 games in just one of his four MLB campaigns.

The 25-year-old Dominican slugger only has 170 at-bats on the year in 49 games, but when he's been available, he's been solid for fantasy managers, hitting .306/.372/.465 with an .836 OPS, seven home runs, 28 RBI and 19 runs scored. Jimenez was hit by a 100 mph fastball on Wednesday, but thankfully X-rays were negative and he's just dealing with a bruise. Fantasy managers should consider the 25-year-old slugger day-to-day. AJ Pollock is in left field and is batting leadoff on Wednesday, while Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup against Orioles right-hander Spencer Watkins. When Jimenez returns to the lineup, he'll be a must-start in fantasy.   Eloy Jimenez In White Sox Starting Lineup

  The Chicago White Sox will have outfielder Eloy Jimenez (knee) back in their lineup Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians. Jimenez left Friday's game against the Guardians with right knee discomfort after twisting his knee while swinging, which is scary considering his injury history. However, he is feeling better today and will get back in the lineup. Jimenez has been on a tear lately, with a .406/.468/.507 slash line in August, so it is good to see him get right back in the lineup to hopefully continue this hot stretch. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status over the next few weeks, as the oft-injured star may need a game or two off to rest this injury.
