Mitch Haniger Set To Return Sunday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) is expected to start Sunday against the Angels. He is available to pinch hit in Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old hasn't played since exiting last Sunday's game against the Braves early with lower back tightness. He is improving and is set to return to the lineup Sunday. Haniger is slashing .233/.288/.399 with seven home runs, 23 RBI, and 19 runs across 177 plate appearances in 41 games in 2022. Fantasy managers should check on Sunday to ensure Haniger is starting before inserting him into their lineups.

Mitch Haniger Remains Out On Saturday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) won't play in Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. It has been almost a week since Haniger last played. The organization mentioned that Haniger is improving, but they want to remain cautious. Luckily, Haniger is only dealing with back tightness, so this shouldn't be something that lands him on the injured list. The expectation is that Haniger will only miss another game or two. Sam Haggerty will cover right field and bat eighth against right-hander Shohei Ohtani.

Mitch Haniger Still Out Of Mariners Lineup

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels. Haniger showed optimism about being ready to return for the start of their weekend series, but clearly he isn't quite ready yet. He is likely to return at some point this weekend barring a setback. Haniger has not played since last Sunday after suffering a back injury. The 31-year-old slugger was in a major funk in September, slashing .179/.250/.256 with no homers in 10 games. When he returns he could be of some use in medium/deep leagues, but he is certainly not a must start at this point.

    Mitch Haniger Still Out Wednesday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. Haniger suffered a back injury on Sunday and may not be able to return to the lineup until after an off day on Thursday for the start of a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. The oft-injured 31-year-old veteran is hitting .233/.288/.399 with seven home runs, 23 RBI and 19 runs scored in only 163 at-bats on the season. Sam Haggerty will get another start in right field on Wednesday and will hit eighth against Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger. Haggerty went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in a start on Tuesday, and he's hitting just .188 (3-for-16) with a homer and two RBI in 10 games so far in September.

Mitch Haniger Not Starting Against Padres

Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (back) is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Haniger will start on the bench after leaving the game early on Sunday with lower back tightness. He should be considered day-to-day for now. The 31-year-old veteran has only had 163 at-bats this year and is hitting .233/.288/.399 with seven home runs, 23 RBI and 19 runs scored in 41 games played. With Haniger out on Tuesday, Sam Haggerty is starting in right field and is hitting eighth in the batting order against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish. Haggerty is a low-upside DFS option at the bottom of the order, but he's hitting a nice .294/.353/.478 with an .831 OPS, five homers, 17 RBI, 26 runs and 11 stolen bases on the year in 136 at-bats.
