Red Sox Sign Joely Rodriguez
The Boston Red Sox have signed left-handed reliever Joely Rodriguez, the team announced in a tweet on Wednesday morning. Per the Red Sox's tweet, Rodriguez is signing a one-year deal that comes with a club option for the 2024 campaign. The veteran spent the 2022 season with the New York Mets, logging a 4.47 ERA and a 3.23 FIP in 50.1 innings of work. He also added 57 strikeouts and nine holds in those 50.1 innings while allowing 26 walks. The former Met will give Boston another late-inning option alongside the likes of Tanner Houck, John Schreiber, Garrett Whitlock, Ryan Brasier, and Matt Barnes.
