Kris Bryant Should Be Ready For Spring Training

The Colorado Rockies are optimistic that third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (foot) will be ready for spring training after he was limited to 42 games in 2022 due to plantar fasciitis. "Our trainers and strength guys have checked in with him and from everything I'm being told he looks good. We are optimistic about him showing up (healthy) at spring training," general manager Bill Schmidt said. When Bryant was on the field in his first year in Colorado, he hit well, slashing .306/.376/.475 with five home runs in 181 plate appearances. The 30-year-old is no longer in his prime, but he resides in the best hitting environment in baseball and could easily bounce back as a value pick in fantasy drafts if he's able to stay healthy in 2023. We'll be monitoring his status closely as spring training nears.

    Rockies Optimistic About Kris Bryant

The Colorado Rockies are optimistic that third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (foot) will arrive at spring training next year healthy after he was limited to 42 games in 2022 due to injuries. "Our trainers and strength guys have checked in with him and from everything I'm being told he looks good. We are optimistic about him showing up (healthy) at spring training," general manager Bill Schmidt said. Bryant dealt with plantar fasciitis for much of the year after inking a seven-year, $182 million deal with the organization last March. But when he was on the field, he hit a strong .306/.376/.475 with five home runs in 181 plate appearances, giving the Rockies and fantasy managers hope that there's still plenty of juice left. Time will tell if he can stay healthy in 2023, but if he can, he could be a bargain in fantasy drafts.

Kris Bryant Done For 2022 Season

Colorado Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant (foot) will officially miss the rest of the 2022 season. The 30-year-old slugger mentioned he won't play again this season, but is excited for the 2023 campaign. This shouldn't shock anyone that the Rockies have decided to rest Bryant with only a few games left in the season. He hit .306/.376/.475 with five home runs and 14 RBI in 42 games with the Rockies. The right-hander slugger was sidelined most of the season due to a lingering foot issue. Hopefully, Bryant can rest and completely heal it over the offseason.

Kris Bryant Takes Next Step Towards Return

Colorado Rockies outfielder/third baseman Kris Bryant (foot) worked out in baseball spikes on Friday, marking a significant step towards a possible late-season return. Depending on how he feels after the workout, he could progress fairly quickly into a rehab assignment and play games in the final week of the season. It has been a frustrating, injury-riddled season for Bryant and his fantasy managers, as he has missed time due to a multitude of injuries, with the latest being plantar fasciitis. When he has been healthy, Bryant has been good. He is slashing .306/.376/.475 on the season with five homers in 181 plate appearances. If only he could stay healthy and do it over the course of a full season. The 30-year-old will be an interesting player to debate during the offseason, as he has the talent to be a stud in fantasy, but he likely won't go high in drafts due to his injury history.

    Kris Bryant Takes Batting Practice

Colorado Rockies third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (foot) took batting practice on Monday. Bryant, who has been out since July 31, wants to play again this season. He has been increasing his baseball activities in the last week, but with time running out in the 2022 regular season, it remains to be seen if the 30-year-old will return to Colorado's lineup. Because of how long Bryant has been sidelined, it's likely that he'll require a minor league rehab assignment before being activated. It's been frustrating for Bryant and his fantasy managers, as he's hit .306/.376/.475 in 160 at-bats in his first year with the Rockies, but he just hasn't been able to stay on the field.

    Kris Bryant Increasing His Activity

Colorado Rockies third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (foot) has increased his activity and is playing catch, but he's still in and out of a walking boot and has no timeline for a return to the team. At this point, it's unlikely that Bryant will return for the Rockies to close out the 2022 season. The 30-year-old slugger has been on the injured list since Aug. 1 while dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He's been solid when on the field in his first year in Colorado, hitting .306/.376/.475 with an .851 OPS, five home runs, 14 RBI and 28 runs scored, but he's managed to play in only 42 games. Sean Bouchard has been the Rockies' everyday left fielder of late with Bryant still sidelined. If you have other needs and are still chasing a fantasy championship, feel free to drop Bryant in single-year formats.

    Kris Bryant Receives Injection

Colorado Rockies third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant (foot) received a platelet-rich plasma injection to help with the plantar fasciitis in his left foot, and the Rockies will have another update on him in seven to 10 days. Bryant has been on the shelf since early August, is in a walking boot and has yet to resume baseball activities. With the regular season winding to a close in just over a month, there's a chance that the 30-year-old won't be back with the Rockies again in 2022. Bryant has been good when on the field, hitting .306/.376/.475 with an .851 OPS, five home runs, 14 RBI and 28 runs scored in 160 at-bats, but he just hasn't been able to stay healthy in his first year in Colorado.

Kris Bryant Still In A Walking Boot

Colorado Rockies outfielder/third baseman Kris Bryant (foot) is still in a walking boot and isn't doing baseball activities. The Rockies still haven't said whether it's possible that he'll return this year, but there are only 39 games left and he'd likely need to go on a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the big-league lineup. It's looking less and less likely that Bryant will play again in 2022. The 30-year-old slugger is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot and hasn't played in a game since July 31. He has just 160 at-bats in his first year in Colorado, hitting .306/.376/.475 with an .851 OPS, five home runs, 14 RBI and 28 runs scored. Bryant has been good when on the field, but he may not get there again this year.
