Red Sox Decline Tommy Pham's Team Option Monday
The Boston Red Sox declined outfielder Tommy Pham's one-year, $12 million team option Monday, per the Athletic's Chad Jennings. The veteran was traded from the San Diego Padres during the 2022 season and ended up with a .236/.312/.374 slash line, 17 home runs, 63 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 622 total plate appearances. Pham has shown an intriguing combination of power and speed at times throughout his career, but he has not been able to combine those skills with a decent batting average for the past several seasons. He will be a free agent heading into the off-season.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham (back) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with lower-back spasms. Pham exited Tuesday's contest early after crashing into the Green Monster while attempting to make a play on a double from Jackie Bradley Jr. He missed last Saturday's game due to a back issue, and the injury flared up again on Tuesday. The 34-year-old went 0-for-2 before leaving. The severity of Pham's injury is unknown, and he is considered day-to-day. Rob Refsnyder replaced Pham in the third inning and could see an increase in playing time if the veteran is forced to miss any time.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham (back) will not be in the lineup on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles. Pham told reporters that his back "jammed up" on him and that he won't play on Saturday. The Red Sox have not officially released a lineup yet but it's safe to assume Pham won't be in there. He also mentioned that the IL is not an option so this sounds like a day-to-day situation for the 34-year-old. He's slashing .271/.292/.500 with three home runs and 12 RBI across 70 at-bats with Boston.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham left Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles with tightness in his lower back. Pham was having a big night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run, and three RBI. He was replaced in the lineup by Bobby Dalbec.
