  Zack Wheeler To Start World Series Game 6 Saturday

  Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler will start Saturday's potential World Series Game 6 against the Houston Astros despite Game 3 being postponed by a day, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. Wheeler is experiencing arm fatigue, per the Phillies, which is why he will get a sixth day of rest before the potential Game 6, rather than start Game 5 on Thursday. Wheeler saw his postseason velocity dip to 95.2 MPH from 97 MPH in World Series Game 2, in which he allowed five runs over 5 innings pitched. Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski did confirm that Wheeler is not injured. Despite the poor outing, Wheeler has still managed a stellar 2.67 ERA through five postseason starts. Hopefully for the Phillies, they won't need to turn to him for a Game 6.

  Zack Wheeler Starting Game 1 Of NLCS

  Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres. Wheeler likely would have pitched on short rest had the Phillies gone to a Game 5 in the NL Division Series against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday in Atlanta. He has looked very good since returning from a month-long stint on the injured list due to right forearm tendonitis on Sept. 21, posting a 1.32 ERA in five starts. Wheeler has a 2.19 ERA in his two playoff starts this year against the Braves and St. Louis Cardinals.   Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler has been tabbed as the team's Game 1 starter against the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Wild-Card Series that begins on Friday.   Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler (forearm) pitched two simulated innings on Friday, and is targeting a return to the rotation Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Good news for the righty, who has been out since August 20 with elbow soreness/forearm tendinitis. He was originally expected back two weeks ago, but after experiencing renewed soreness in his elbow he took a week off from throwing. He is feeling better now, though, and won't need a minor league rehab assignment before jumping back in the Phillies rotation. His first start will be an abbreviated one, but he can still be of use in daily lineup leagues next week.
