Christian Yelich Returns Against Rockies
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (neck) is back in left field and is hitting leadoff on Monday against the Colorado Rockies and right-hander Ryan Feltner. Yelich missed the last three games with neck soreness, but he'll return on Monday for the start of a series against the Rockies in hitter-friendly Coors Field. Fantasy managers will want to get the 30-year-old left-handed slugger back into their lineups, as Yelich has been very productive in his last 16 games, hitting .317 (19-for-60) with three home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. Milwaukee Brewers skipper Craig Counsell said that outfielder Christian Yelich (neck) is day-to-day after leaving the game early on Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks with neck discomfort. "He just irritated his neck on one of the swings in that second at-bat. We're day-to-day. I think there's a chance he misses a couple of days but I wouldn't worry about it past that," Counsell said. Fantasy managers should prepare to be without Yelich for a few days, but it doesn't appear to be a long-term issue. Yelich went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before departing and is now hitting .259/.360/.387 on the season with 11 home runs, 45 RBI, 83 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. He finished the month of August hitting .255 (26-for-102) with three homers, 10 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases.
