  The Miami Marlins activated outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring), infielder Joey Wendle (hamstring) and pitcher Tommy Nance (groin) from the injured list on Thursday. The Marlins also placed infielder/outfielder Garrett Cooper (pinkie) on the 10-day injured list with a pinkie fracture and Steven Okert (triceps) on the 15-day injured list with left triceps tightness. Jesus Sanchez was recalled and Jerar Encarnacion and Luke Williams were optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville. Garcia is starting in right field and batting cleanup on Thursday, while Wendle is at the 6 and hitting seventh against Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Eric Lauer. With less than a week left in the regular season, Cooper's 2022 campaign will come to an end.

  Avisail Garcia Has A Hit In First Rehab Game

  Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout while serving as the designated hitter in his first minor league rehab game with Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday. Barring a setback on what will likely be a short rehab assignment in the minors, Garcia should return from the injured list at some point this week to finish off the 2022 regular season in the big leagues. After hitting a career-high 29 home runs with the Milwaukee Brewers last year, the 31-year-old Venezuelan slugger has disappointed with the Fish and is currently batting .230/.267/.316 with only seven home runs, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases in 339 at-bats.

  Avisail Garcia To Begin Rehab Assignment Monday

  Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) and right-hander Tommy Nance (groin) will start a minor league rehab assignment on Monday with Triple-A Jacksonville. As long as Garcia doesn't suffer any setbacks in the minors, he should be able to rejoin the Fish for the final few days of the 2022 regular season. The 31-year-old has been on the shelf for the last two weeks with a left hamstring strain, but he's getting closer to returning to the starting lineup. Garcia has been a disappointment in his first year in Miami with a .230/.267/.316 slash line, seven home runs, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases in 93 games after hitting a career-high 29 long balls last year for the Milwaukee Brewers.

  Avisail Garcia Heads To Injured List

  The Miami Marlins placed outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and called up infield prospect Jordan Groshans from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. With time running out in the regular season, there's a good chance we won't see Garcia again in 2022. He's hit a disappointing .230/.267/.316 with seven home runs, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases in 359 plate appearances over 93 games in his first year in Miami after clubbing a career-high 29 home runs and driving in 86 in 2021 with the Milwaukee Brewers. With the 31-year-old veteran on the shelf, Jerar Encarnacion and Bryan De La Cruz will battle for more playing time in the outfield.

  Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup on Monday for the first game of a doubleheader against the Texas Rangers. Garcia is dealing with a hamstring injury that previously put him on the injured list for a month, and he aggravated the injury on Saturday. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day with left hamstring discomfort, but if he doesn't return to the lineup soon, he might have to be shut down for the rest of the season.   Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia departed Saturday's contest in the first inning after experiencing discomfort in his left hamstring. He recently returned from the IL after missing a month of action with a strain to the same hamstring, so it's a bit concerning that he got lifted after playing one half-inning in right field. Perhaps the club is just playing it cautious with Garcia, but look for an update on his status prior to Sunday's finale versus the Mets.

  Avisail Garcia Activated From Injured List

  The Miami Marlins activated outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) from the injured list on Tuesday and optioned Peyton Burdick to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Garcia will immediately return to the starting lineup on Tuesday against Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola, as he's starting in right field and hitting cleanup. The 31-year-old veteran will be playing in his first major league game since Aug. 2, but he did get six minor league games to shake the rust off before he was reinstated. Garcia will return to being Miami's regular right fielder to close out the 2022 season. In 323 at-bats this year, he's slashing .232/.269/.322 with seven long balls, 30 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases.
