    David Robertson Joins Mets Bullpen

The New York Mets agreed with relief pitcher David Robertson on a one-year, $10 million deal on Thursday, according to a source familiar with the contract. The Met got significantly better on Thursday evening, also re-signing center fielder Brandon Nimmo to a monster eight-year, $162 million deal. The 2022 season with the Philadelphia Phillies was his first full year since having Tommy John surgery in 2021. The 37-year-old veteran reliever with 157 career saves had a combined 2.40 ERA (3.58 FIP), a 1.16 WHIP, 20 saves and 81 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings for the Phillies and Chicago Cubs. Edwin Diaz is cemented in the Mets' closer role, but Robertson will be a strong setup option with plenty of high-leverage experience. He will have plenty of value in holds leagues.

David Robertson Testing His Calf Monday

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher David Robertson (calf) will test his strained right calf with a throwing session on Monday. His status for the National League Championship Series against the San Diego Padres remains unclear, but if he comes out of the session without any setbacks, he could be added to the NLCS roster on Tuesday before Game 1 of the series. The 37-year-old right-handed veteran wasn't available in the NL Division Series against the Atlanta Braves due to a calf injury he injured while celebrating a Bryce Harper home run in the Wild-Card Series. Robertson was one of the team's best relievers during the regular season, so getting him back for the NLCS would be huge for the Phillies bullpen.

    David Robertson Continues To Throw

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher David Robertson (calf) continues to throw and believes he is close to pitching again. Robertson would be a nice boost to the team's bullpen if they advance past the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series to play in the NL Championship Series next week. The 37-year-old veteran reliever strained his right calf celebrating a Bryce Harper home run in the Wild-Card Series and wasn't able to make the roster or the NLDS this week. Already with a pretty solid bullpen, Philadelphia would get a boost if Robertson is healthy enough to pitch next week. He had a 2.40 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 20 saves and 81 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings during the regular season.

David Robertson Off NLDS Roster Due To Injury

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher David Robertson (calf) strained his calf jumping when outfielder Bryce Harper hit a home run in Game 2 of the National League Wild-Card Series on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Robertson received a platelet-rich plasma injection and was left off the roster for the NL Division Series this week against the Atlanta Braves. It's a notable loss for the Phillies for this series, as Robertson was solid for the Phillies in a high-leverage role in the regular season, posting a 2.40 ERA (3.58 FIP), a 1.16 WHIP, 20 saves and 81 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings with the Phillies and Chicago Cubs. Zach Eflin will continue to serve as the team's primary closer against the Braves this week.
