Reports: Tigers continue front office shakeup, parting ways with David Chadd

David Chadd, an assistant general manager with the Detroit Tigers who helped the team acquire such noteworthy contributors as James McCann, Nick Castellanos, Andrew Miller and Rick Porcello among others, won't be back with the Tigers by mutual agreement, per the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News. Scott Harris, the Tigers' new president of baseball operations, continues to overhaul Detroit's front office, after previously firing Scott Pleis, the team's amateur scouting director. Chadd, 56, spent the past 18 years in Detroit after previous front office tours with the Miami Marlins and Boston Red Sox. He oversaw amateur scouting for Detroit. Harris was hired in September following the firing of general manager Al Avia in August. The Tigers finished 66-96 this year, 26 games behind the first-place Cleveland Guardians. Previously the general manager for the San Francisco Giants, Harris also spent time with the Chicago Cubs and Major League Baseball office. Detroit last made the playoffs in 2014. --Field Level Media
