TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 25-year-old will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back set due to a left hip contusion. His absence should mean that Jarred Vanderbilt moves into the starting five on Saturday. He began the season as a starter, but has shifted to the second unit as a late. Vanderbilt is already rostered in many fantasy formats, but is worth snagging if available on the waiver wire for Saturday's slate.
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (hip) is listed as questionable to play Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Markkanen has already missed a game with hip soreness and is in danger of missing another. If Markkanen does sit out Monday, Jarred Vanderbilt and Talen Horton-Tucker should both see increased roles. Jordan Clarkson would also be asked to shoulder the load offensively. Clarkson posted 38 points last game without Markkanen.
Thursday, January 12
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Kelly Olynyk (ankle) will miss at least one week of action. The 31-year-old missed Tuesday's game and it appears this won't be a one-game absence. The organization is going to shut him down for a week while Olynyk recovers from his sprained left ankle. Walker Kessler should continue to start, while Olynyk is out. He has been playing very well lately and should be rostered in most fantasy formats right now. Fantasy managers should double check the waiver wire to make sure Kessler isn't available.
Wednesday, January 11
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Kelly Olynyk (ankle) won't suit up for Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. In fact, it sounds like Olynyk is likely to miss more than one game due to his sprained left ankle. Head coach Will Hardy mentioned that Olynyk's injury is more significant than a day-to-day type of issue. That being said, Walker Kessler is likely to see a handful of starts in the near future. He has been solid this season, so he should be added if he's available on the waiver wire. Kessler is providing 11th-round value in 9-cat formats right now. He should see increased value with Olynyk sidelined, so pick him up if he's available.
Tuesday, January 10
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Kelly Olynyk (ankle) is listed as out against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night. The 31-year-old was able to play almost 30 minutes in the team's last contest but picked up an ankle sprain in the process. Walker Kessler, if not rostered already, would be the top streaming option out of this situation. After Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt will probably see higher usage in the front court as well.
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will miss another game due to injury maintenance on his right hamstring. Tuesday marks his fifth consecutive game missed due to the hamstring issue and there doesn't seem to be a firm timetable for his return. While he's been out, Malik Beasley, Ochai Agbaji, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker have all seen some added minutes off of the bench. Beasley would likely be the safer streaming option, but the other two could help in deeper leagues.
Sunday, January 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Talen Horton-Tucker (ankle) won't suit up for Sunday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. It's the second night of a back-to-back set, so the Jazz have decided to rest their young guard. His absence should open up more playing time for Malik Beasley, Ochai Agbaji and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. On Saturday, Agbaji dropped 19 points with four triples, but he's not exactly a consistent option. Between the three players, Beasley is the more reliable fantasy option.
Thursday, January 05
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the Houston Rockets. Sexton played in five straight games before sitting out of Tuesday's loss to the Sacramento Kings. The 24-year-old will miss his second straight game to what the team is calling right hamstring injury maintenance. Malik Beasley will be asked to handle a bulk of the playing time with Nickeil Alexander-Walker getting extended minutes as well. Beasley is likely rostered in most fantasy formats, but should be snagged if available in any right now. Alexander-Walker could be worth streaming as a deep league option until Sexton is back.
Sunday, December 25
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz center Kelly Olynyk (ankle) will not play Monday against the San Antonio Spurs. Olynyk continues to be sidelined with an ankle sprain he suffered last week and there have been no reports of his progress yet. Walker Kessler and Jarred Vanderbilt will continue to split the center minutes until Olynyk is back on the court.
Friday, December 23
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will suit up for Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. The 23-year-old will return to action after missing the last seven games due to a hamstring strain. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has been seeing an expanded role, but Sexton is expected to take away those minutes. That being said, Alexander-Walker won't be an appealing streaming option with Sexton healthy. The expectation is that Sexton will be limited during his first game back. Although, it shouldn't take him long to get back to full speed.
Thursday, December 22
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz center Kelly Olynyk (ankle) won't play on Thursday against the Wizards, his third consecutive absence because of a sprained left ankle. Rookie Walker Kessler, who's averaged 9.3 points, 8.5 boards, and 2.3 blocks while shooting 81.8% from the field in his four starts this season, is expected to remain in the starting lineup. Kessler should see plenty of attention from category managers while also serving as a popular value option in DFS formats.
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is questionable for Thursday's matchup with the Washington Wizards. The 23-year-old has missed his previous seven games because of a hamstring strain. However, it appears he's at least moving in the right direction toward making his return. Sexton had been playing well while filling in Mike Conley in the starting lineup before his injury. That said, the former Cav could see a minutes cap from off the bench even if he suits up, so his fantasy upside may be extremely limited.
Tuesday, December 20
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) still won't make his return on Tuesday night as he's officially ruled out for the game against the Detroit Pistons. This will be his seventh consecutive game missed with a hamstring strain. As he's been out, Nickeil Alexander-Walker has gotten a bump in minutes off of the bench and Malik Beasley has gotten some chances at both guard spots as well. Sexton's next chance to suit up will come on Thursday against the Washington Wizards.
Utah Jazz center Kelly Olynyk (ankle) will miss his second straight game Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons. Olynyk is dealing with an ankle sprain and the Jazz have no incentive to rush him back. Walker Kessler will continue to start alongside Jarred Vanderbilt while Rudy Gay should pick up some extra minutes off the bench. Kessler remains an elite streamer for blocks while Olynyk is out.
Monday, December 19
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Kelly Olynyk (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. His streak of playing in 32 straight games will come to an end. It's uncertain whether Jarred Vanderbilt or Walker Kessler will get the start on Monday. Kessler has been better lately with some impressive blocking abilities. He'd be a decent streaming option if given the starting nod. Fantasy managers will have to check back closer to tip-off for more information.
Sunday, December 18
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is uncertain to suit up for Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The young guard has been sidelined for a week and a half due to a lingering hamstring issue. It would be great to see Sexton out there against his former team, but we'll have to wait and see how he feels. His return would take away minutes from Nickeil Alexander-Walker. He has been playing well, but Alexander-Walker wouldn't have as much streaming appeal with Sexton healthy.
Friday, December 16
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) has been sidelined since December 7th, but continues making progress. The 23-year-old is dealing with a mild calf strain, but is considered day-to-day. Sexton didn't suit up on Thursday, but is ramping up his activities, so possibly he can play during their next contest. In the meantime, Nickeil Alexander-Walker will continue seeing increased playing time. He'll be worth streaming until Sexton gets back on the floor.
Utah Jazz point/shooting guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. Milwaukee as he continues to work his way back from a strained right hamstring. Sexton had found his offensive rhythm prior to going down, scoring in double figures in nine straight outings (all starts). Malik Beasley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker have stepped up among the second unit, while Jordan Clarkson continues to have a career year (20.2 PPG) in the scoring column. While Sexton's PPG output (14.3) has slightly dipped this season, he has shot a career-best 49.3 percent from the field overall. A return appears on the horizon, with his next chance coming Monday against the Cavs.
Thursday, December 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) won't play on Thursday night for the rematch with the Pelicans, as expected. He's due to be re-evaluated sometime soon, so there's a chance he could be back in the next few games, assuming his recovery has trended in a positive direction. In the meantime, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who has averaged 17 points in 29 minutes in the last four contests, should continue to benefit.
Tuesday, December 13
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen has officially gotten off of the injury report after having to miss the team's last three games. His production has been sorely missed by the Jazz and it was probably missed even more by all of his fantasy managers. With his return to the starting lineup, Malik Beasley will likely move back to a bench role but won't lose all fantasy relevance as Collin Sexton is still out. Markkanen doesn't have restrictions that were announced so he should be a must-start once again.
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will remain sidelined against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. The 23-year-old has missed his last two games due to a hamstring strain and it looks like he'll at least be missing one more. Utah has been very thin recently as their injury report has grown. Mike Conley and Lauri Markkanen have both recently returned to practice though and look to take over the minutes in the starting lineup once again. Malik Beasley should still be a solid streaming option off of the bench though.
Monday, December 12
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (illness) was able to return to practice on Monday. This is good news after Markkanen has missed each of the last three games with a non-COVID related illness. Malik Beasley has been replacing Markkanen in the starting unit and playing fairly well in his spot. The hope is that Markkanen can play on Tuesday, which would shift Beasley to the second unit. Despite a move to the bench, Beasley is still worth holding onto in most fantasy formats.
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (hip) was able to participate during Monday's practice. It's nice to see Clarkson back out there after he sat out of Saturday's contest. The hope is that Clarkson will be able to return to the starting lineup for Tuesday's game. His return will push Talen Horton-Tucker back to the second unit. He hasn't done much this season, so a move back to the bench isn't going to help his fantasy value. At the moment, fantasy managers should consider Clarkson questionable for Tuesday's game.
Sunday, December 11
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Denver Nuggets. The 25-year-old continues to deal with a lingering illness that will cost him at least one more game. In the meantime, Malik Beasley is looking like a must-start fantasy option. He has 41 points over the last two games and should continue to see plenty of chances on Saturday with the Jazz shorthanded.
Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Denver Nuggets. This is a significant blow to the Jazz because Clarkson has been huge for them this season. His absence should mean more scoring chances for Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Malik Beasley. Over the last two games, Beasley has scored 41 points, so he'll be a must-start option for Saturday's slate. Fantasy managers should make sure Beasley is in your lineups before it's too late.
Friday, December 09
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (illness) is considered questionable for Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He sat out of their last game, which resulted in Walker Kessler drawing the start. The rookie big man finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds across 24 minutes in that spot start. The expectation is that he'll be asked to draw another start if Markkanen is unable to play on Friday. That being said, Kessler would be a popular fantasy asset if he starts again.
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley (knee) has been officially cleared to make his return to the court on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This is great news after Conley has missed the last nine games due to a knee injury. The expectation is that Conley is going to immediately slide back into the starting unit. Fellow guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) was starting, but he's set to miss time because of an injury. It's likely that Conley remains the starter once Sexton is back to full health. Fantasy managers in season-long formats can get Conley back in their lineups on Friday.
Thursday, December 08
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley (knee) was hopeful to get back on the court for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. The veteran guard has missed the last eight games, but is making progress. Despite that, the Jazz will have Conley sit out at least one more game. That being said, Collin Sexton will continue to run with the starting five until Conley is healthy enough to return. Sexton could be an interesting fantasy option on Wednesday with the Jazz banged up.
Wednesday, December 07
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (illness) will end up not playing on Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors. On top of his absence, the team will be without Mike Conley which means a lot of offensive usage that opens up for the remaining healthy players. Malik Beasley would be a great streaming option if he happens to be on the waiver wire in any fantasy format. Simone Fontecchio will likely get more minutes, but is less of a surefire fantasy option.
Monday, December 05
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley (knee) is hopeful to return to the court for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. The 35-year-old hasn't played since November 19th due to a lingering knee issue. However, it sounds like the veteran guard is ready to return after an eight-game absence. His return would likely send Collin Sexton to the bench, which would hurt his fantasy value. Sexton should still be productive off the bench, but his playing time will likely take a hit.
Sunday, December 04
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. This comes as no surprise considering Conley hasn't played since November 19th due to a left popliteus strain. The rebuilding Jazz really have no reason to rush the veteran guard back onto the court. In the meantime, Collin Sexton will continue to start and have an increased role in the offense. He should be rostered in basically all fantasy formats with Conley having no timetable in sight.
Sunday, November 20
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley (knee) won't return to Saturday's matchup against the Utah Jazz after hyperextending his left knee. The 35-year-old has averaged 10.9 points and 8.2 assists this season, so he's at least offered something to fantasy managers. However, it's certainly possible Conley misses time moving ahead, which would open the door for Collin Sexton to replace him in the lineup. Sexton had 19 points in his only start this season and may thrive on the scoring end with an elevated role.
Wednesday, November 09
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward/center Jarred Vanderbilt (groin) is listed as questionable to play Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. Vanderbilt has missed the past two games with adductor soreness but was listed as questionable for both contests. Given he's also listed as questionable here, Vanderbilt will likely be day-to-day moving forward. With Vanderbilt hobbled, Malik Beasley has started the past two games and would likely continue to do so. Beasley can be viewed as a boom-or-bust points and threes streamer while Vanderbilt sits. Walker Kessler is also a name to watch while Vanderbilt is out.
Utah Jazz forward Jarred Vanderbilt (groin) has been upgraded to available for the team's game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Previously, the 23-year-old was listed as questionable again. Both Rudy Gay and Walker Kessler will go back to backup minutes, while Vanderbilt takes his starting spot back. He's been averaging 9.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals so far this season. Fantasy managers can safely enter him back into their lineups.
Monday, November 07
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz forward Jarred Vanderbilt (hip) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Coming just a few hours before the game tipped off, this news hopefully points toward Vanderbilt being ready to suit up on Monday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Malik Beasley is going to enter the starting lineup to create a small-ball situation. Kelly Olynyk and Walker Kessler should take care of the minutes at center while Rudy Gay will help out with the power forward duties.
Monday, October 31
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The rookie big man has missed two games with a non-COVID related illness. It has been tough for Kessler to make a significant impact with Jarred Vanderbilt and Kelly Olynyk starting right now. Fantasy managers should be patient because Kessler should eventually join the starting five at some point this season. In the meantime, he'll continue to play backup minutes alongside Udoka Azubuike in the second unit. Fantasy managers should check back closer to game time to see if Kessler is cleared to play on Monday.
Sunday, October 30
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley (rest) won't play on Saturday against Memphis. The veteran will get a routine night off with the team playing its second of back-to-back games. As a result, Collin Sexton will take his place. Sexton has averaged only 11.0 points, 3.0 boards, and 1.5 assists while shooting a disastrous 28.6% this season. However, the 23-year-old may turn things around in his first start of the 2022-23 campaign.
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton will start on Saturday versus the Grizzlies. With Mike Conley (rest) getting the night off, Sexton will make his first start of the season. The 23-year-old has struggled so far in 2022-23, averaging only 11.0 points while shooting 28.6% from behind the arc. However, he has a good chance of getting his act together with the promotion to the starting lineup.
Saturday, October 29
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (oblique) is available for Friday's clash with the Denver Nuggets. The 23-year-old has struggled this season, averaging 10.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 30.0% from deep. Sexton has also logged a career-low 17 minutes in 2022-23, so fantasy managers should remain cautious until he turns things around.
Utah Jazz forward Rudy Gay (health and safety protocols) won't play on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. The 36-year-old has averaged only 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists this season, so his absence won't mean much for fantasy managers. However, it may indirectly open up some playing time for Collin Sexton, who has logged just 17 minutes per game in 2022-23, giving him a brighter outlook in all formats.
Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (illness) won't play on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. The rookie is under the weather, although fortunately, it's not COVID-related. Kessler has played well in his first five professional appearances, averaging 5.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks, including amassing a double-double in the season-opener. As a result, Udoka Azubuike may see some minutes. However, he likely won't receive enough to justify his presence in any fantasy lineup.
Thursday, October 27
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (oblique) has been tagged as questionable for Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets. The 23-year-old was forced to leave Wednesday's game early. He only played 10 minutes in the contest and is now hoping to not miss the next game. If he does miss some time, Malik Beasley, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Talen Horton-Tucker will see some increased opportunities. Fantasy managers should stay tuned to see if he ends up playing closer to game time on Friday.
Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (illness) has been listed as questionable for Friday night. He's suffering from an illness and will be re-evaluated before the game. The rookie had a great game in his debut but has seen dwindling playing time since then. So far he's averaging 5.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. He's sure to see fluctuating playing time as the season goes on. He's a must-add in dynasty formats, but outside of that, he can be left on the waiver wire until he gets more opportunities.
Monday, October 24
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz center Udoka Azubuike (ankle) will remain sidelined for Monday's game against the Houston Rockets. The 23-year-old has been rehabbing ankle surgery he underwent in March. He missed all of training camp, the preseason and now the first four games of the regular season. It's unclear when Azubuike will be healthy enough to rejoin the rotation. He'll have to compete for playing time in a crowded frontcourt rotation. Kelly Olynyk, Jarred Vanderbilt and Walker Kessler will continue to split up the playing time in Utah. Kessler has the highest upside out of the three players.
Saturday, October 15
TEAMPLAYERTRANSACTION
Utah Jazz guard Malik Beasley (ankle) is expected to be ready to play on opening night. He sprained his ankle during a preseason game on October 4th. Since then, Beasley has sat out the rest of the preseason, but is expected to be ready for the beginning of the regular season. The 25-year-old was a top-100 player two years ago, but hasn't been quite as productive since then. He'll be competing with Jordan Clarkson and Ochai Agbaji for playing time in Utah. Beasley could be someone worth snagging in the late rounds, but his playing time is likely going to determine his fantasy value.
