| | Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey had his third-year option picked up by the team on Saturday. The No. 6 overall selection of the 2021 NBA Draft averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 boards, and 6.4 assists in 54 games. Unfortunately, his rookie campaign ended early due to a hip injury. Giddey is now healthy heading into the 2022-23 season, where he will reclaim his role in the starting lineup. Without question, the 20-year-old should provide points, assists, and rebounds for category managers. However, he shot 26.3% from deep last season, so that will need to improve. |
| | Oklahoma City Thunder guard Tre Mann had his third-year option exercised by the team on Saturday. The No. 18 overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft averaged 10.4 points in 60 games last season. However, as a starter, he averaged 14.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 26 games. Mann is expected to come off the bench this season, so the 21-year-old probably won't be a routine fantasy producer in any format, although he'll occasionally have some productive showings. |
| | Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Aleksej Pokusevski had his fourth-year option picked up by the team on Saturday. Pokusevski, a first-round pick in 2020, has averaged 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in the last two seasons. He's still a work in progress, especially on the shooting end from deep, so fantasy managers won't receive routine production from him. However, after Chet Holmgren (foot) was lost for the year, Pokusevski's path to the starting lineup may have opened, giving him some upside in deeper formats. |
| | Free-agent guard Isaiah Joe will sign a multi-year contract with OKC. Joe has spent his entire two-year career in Philly, where he averaged only 3.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in 96 games. While the 23-year-old has a great deal of potential, he's still far from being a day-to-day fantasy producer. However, Joe is someone to keep stashed in dynasty formats, and his 34.9% career shooting from deep gives him some value in category formats, even more so if he receives minutes for his new team. |
